I have only rated this as a one star so I am able to leave my review or would not have stared this at all . Sadley It was my father in laws funeral yesterday, his wake was held in his local pub of 40 years + ,The Wellington Hotel in Hale Village liverpool, yet the pub its self is lovely an so are their staff .The management on the other other hand were very unprofessional and rude beyond belief , upon arrival an within the first hour of being there they told us the CD was not working so we were unble to play Tommy's favourite songs . We had earlier on in the week leading up th his wake we asked "if able to use there projector to be able to showcase some of the old photos of Tommy", we did ask " Do we need to provide anything at all," to be told "no we will sort it as you as a family you have more things to worry about", but upon arrival yesterday when we had requested assistance to be able to access this, after the 3rd request my very heavily nine month pregnant niece was rudely spoken to be the management and told her "you have had all week to come here an check this out for yourself" then she ignored my neice and dismissed her as if she was nothing, once our neice returned up stairs very distressed an emotional as unable to be able to showcase all her of photos of her granddad that she had worked so hard on in honur of her grandad, her husband went to speak to the management and defend his wife as she was so upset on how she han been treated when asking for assistance, who retaliated by saying they calling the police and asking the family the to leave (telling the police that the family had been verbally and physically abusive) to leave the premises after taking the familys money which had paid for a buffet for the wake , by the way where no utensils had been laid out for you to be able to pick the food up with , no conserments or cutlery to use or be seen ,no staff to assist or help with the food, I have never in all my life been to or attend a funeral were the family of the departed have been...
Read moreWhen we arrived service was good, our table was ready and our drinks and food order were taken promptly. Drinks arrived quickly and as ordered. Food was average. Yorkshire puddings on the roasts were cold. When we voiced this to the waitress she brought replacements from the kitchen. We were charged an additional charge for each Yorkshire pudding that was replaced. When I questioned this we were told as some of the cold Yorkshire pudding had been eaten they couldn’t just replace it and had to charge for additional. The chicken burger stated it came with chicken gravy - it didn’t. I asked for a side of onion rings which never arrived but were still added on the bill. There was a mix up of which curry was ordered, a korma was brought which wasn’t even on the menu. When we asked it was replaced with a chicken tikka which is what should have been ordered. Granted this was probably my mistake but both curries were added on the bill. The korma was brought to the table and taken straight back with the waitress saying she would sort it. She should have said I can rectify this but you will be charged for both and given us the opportunity to decide what we wanted to do. I asked for half and half with the curry and was told that was fine. What actually happened was the curry was ordered with rice and a side of chips added. I would have preferred the waitress to say, we don’t do half and half but you can order a side of chips if you like. Overall disappointing and won’t...
Read moreCalled in here unexpectedly on the way home from a very stressful visit with my poorly sister at Chester hospital. My mum and I were a bit sad and tired. As soon as we sat down.. a really friendly girl welcomed us and took our drinks and food order and told us she would open up a tab to save us going to the bar. Very kind of her. My mum ordered the fish n chips and as I am trying to lose weight.. I ordered the chicken and bacon salad without the bacon or dressing . The food arrived and my mum LOVED her meal saying it was the nicest, whitest cod she had ever had. That's a real compliment from her as she is really fussy! I was expecting a pretty boring chicken salad but it was the nicest I'd ever had. It had all the freshest ingredients plus the chef had incorporated quinoa and brown rice into it. It was really delicious. The chicken was fresh, delicious and grilled to perfection. I'm definitely going to return here with my husband and daughter as we only live in Grassendale and I know they will love it. Thank you so much to the staff for such a warm welcome and an exceptional meal. it was just what we needed on such a sad day and it really rejuvenated us. We...
