I think this may be the best roast turkey I've ever had. So much flavour and it was (dare I say it) MOIST! 👀 Epic portions and so lovely to see all the veg actually roasted, not just the potatoes. Setting marked down a teeny bit as it could have been improved with a bit more heat and some music 👌 Will definitely be back! The order: Sunday roast - £14.95 📅 Visited in November 2023

Good place. Have a big garden behind with children's play area. Descent food. Their chunky chips were so good. Good place to enjoy in summer.

Quite possibly the best Sunday roast dinner I have ever had. The food was fantastic quality, way more than enough and service was prompt.

Highly disappointing! We booked a table for my son’s 18th birthday, we were a large party of 15, had been recommended to go here and were grateful they could accommodate us. On the night, we arrived to find our party was spilt onto 2 tables - not ideal for a family birthday, and that we were squashed into a small room with 2 other tables and the only access to the ladies toilets. Meaning we were all cramped in, the table of 2 people were swamped by us and then the added stress of people trying to squeeze through to get to the toilet. On arrival we were also told they were out of 3 main staples of pub food - no steak, no gammon and no hunters chicken. Not impressed! The reason for booking tables is so that the restaurant can gauge how much food, drink, staff etc they need. To my personal disappointment they didn’t have any alcoholic drinks that I wanted - no tia Maria / kahlua or amaretto! Then they kept having power cuts - not their fault, but obviously made them run behind and delay food coming out. We then saw 2 waitresses come in with carrier bags of food from the supermarket, only to be told 10 minutes later there were no chunky chips available. So not sure how they were going to actually serve the food we’d ordered as 90% had chips. At this point, an hour and a half after arriving, we decided to leave, we had 5 children that were hungry and needed feeding. When we spoke to the bar staff to say how disappointed we were, I was shocked at their response. They were rude and defensive, saying that they’re not doing this on purpose and that my son’s 18th wasn’t a priority for them! I work in hospitality and deal with customers every day. I would never speak to anyone they way they did to us. It is the job of the staff and management to be understanding, sympathetic, apologetic and acknowledge the fact that we, as customers, were unhappy with the entire evening. The manager came out and got into an argument with one of our party, he was completely unprofessional and certainly did not deal with or resolve the situation. No compensation was offered, in the form of a free drink or meal another time. I feel completely let down and highly disappointed on a night that was meant to be a special occasion for my...

The pub itself is great but the food has really let things down, This is the 2nd time I've eaten here . First time I ordered a burger basket, massive value for money in terms of price and quantity but..... The burger came out with cheese unmelted nor did it ever melt because the burger was cold. Not to mention the half red onion in the burger overpowering it. First time I'll always give the benefit of doubt. 2nd time I visited I thought I would play it safe and have some cheesy chips. Easy enough .... However the chips came out with cold packaged cheese sprinkled all over. 30 seconds under the grill/microwave would have been perfect but there was no care taken at all. Staff happy to serve me half a bowl of cold cheese instead. This is fundamentally down to zero care given. 30 seconds to melt cheese.... Come on guys sort it out !!! On a side note.... You need to get in touch with your corona rep... Your on tap Corona is wasting you massive amount of money and the staff are all too happy to pour it down the drain rather than sort the issue out. I ran pubs for a few years and your literally pouring your profits down the drain !!! Overall..... You have an amazing pub with a great pub garden, however the views are ruined by overgrown trees and shrubbery. I'm guessing you own the bit after the fence as you have a side access gate ! Your lunchtime menu is definitely value for money however serving cold cheese/burgers is such a simple fix .... Your skin on fries were great the 1st time I ate but 2nd time unfortunately you had standard fries. Onto the next...

Terrible experience and we didn’t even make it to the food! Booked for 11-13 people as we were coming after the Bridgwater Half Marathon, not all the party could attend due to being unwell however 6 of us attended. The staff seemed happy they could fit us all on one table but one of our party overheard the manager Chloe talking outside about how rude it was we didn’t call ahead and how we’re all just a bunch of hung over 18 year olds. They placed us on their biggest table (table of 6 which we filled) and were complaining that we were taking their biggest table. We hadn’t been given menus or introduced to a waitress so decided to leave as we saw the same manager giving us looks from the bar - we went over and explained that it might be best to not talk badly about your guests and that we were going to take our business elsewhere, she said how rude it was and continued to argue with us, even though I explained on the phone there may be less of us but wanted to book for more rather than less - she continued to say “I didn’t take the phone call”, obviously this isn’t our issue and more of an internal problem and then asked us to leave, safe to say we were already out the door… this doesn’t look like a stand alone problem by the reviews so I would think twice about booking if you are a larger group/would like to be treated with respect. PS...
