Visited for a meeting on Tuesday 10 April 2018 , first time for many years. The Wheatsheaf seems just the same with the two rooms , main bar and back room both well kept, clean and tidy. The locals seemed welcoming and friendly willing to help a stranger!
The beers are all from the Marston's group with Pedigree, Wainwright and a Marston's Saddle tank on offer as real ales. I tried the saddle tank and it has a similar taste to Banks Bitter.
The place a reasonable car park to the right of the pub . A sign in the pub says it is going to be closed for a few days next week 16 April to 20 April for refurbishment. I do hope it will retain the friendly character and atmosphere...
Read moreWe had Tosh from Murase's Pizza do the food for our wedding and it was incredible. He comes with Pizza oven (Rosie) and everything he needs and our guests loved it. We had canapés while people were having drinks then pizzas with sharing platters which we amazing and everyone loved with some beautiful Italian style deserts. Later on in the evening Tosh pulled it out the bag with burgers and chicken souvlaki which were phenomenal.
