Wow ! I cannot explain just how much this pub exceeded my expectations. Utterly fabulous menu, simple, easy to read and something for everyone. The staff were all warm, friendly and welcoming in what truly is a family and dog friendly environment. The food, oh my word the food.....just outstanding, and lots of it. Good range of beer and cider on draft, as well as the usual bottles and spirits. Such a great place to stop for a meal, reasonably priced, and an absolute gem of a find. Half a dozen bottles of single malt whisky behind the bar and i dont think that I would want to leave. If you only have one bar meal this year....it should be here.

Excellent experiences are usually unplanned. We called in here with my grandson after a walk in Dunham Massey. Pleasantly surprised by both the quality and price of the food. Nice clean pub too. The owner ran off her feet trying to serve everyone as she hadn't called in staff because she had few bookings. Most people must have called in like us. Reviews of the Sunday lunch are excellent so will book for a fortnights time with the rest of the family.

Looks lovely since being done up. All staff members have been really friendly and welcoming, it was a popular Sunday afternoon but service has been fast and we were not kept waiting. The traditional turkey Sunday lunch was lovely and fresh and the dessert was just 😍

Inconsistent and such a shame as it has so much potential. I would advise to avoid busier periods especially. Food often comes separately leaving one or more to dine alone with forgotten parts or requests ignored. Staff struggle to take notes or relay messages regarding easy requests regarding allergies and requirements. Gluten free had been requested by one of our company guests in the past and was unwell after dining. You have to ask or send back. Staff often scratching their heads not knowing whats going on looking at you as if you are speaking a foreign language. Chef obviously cannot cook a vegetable. The landlady, on our last visit was brash and rude. Bookings are unnoted and chaos is the feel which fills your dining atmosphere, especially on busier days. Chaos is only the word I can describe but its not a great feeling. We gave it the benefit of doubt hoping on each return our service would get better or improve so we had a good local pub to frequent but sadly not. There is always one or three problems on each visit and we often leave disappointed. Prices on the bill were always different depending on what mood they're were in and they have also recently increased them but the service certainly does not reflect. The only thing one could argue as a plus point at this pub restaurant is the meat portions are large on the roasts. But if I go out for a Sunday roast I'd like to enjoy my whole dish, together with my fellow guests WITH cooked vegetables, and not worrying allergen guests will be unwell and not nibbling on a side of raw crudités with their meal for nearly £20 pounds per dish and beyond. The only fools Im afraid were us perhaps returning in the hope of something better each time and that we had maybe just attended on a bad days (which we can all have or excuse) but sadly every visit seems to have been a bad day - and some things are inexcusable especially after our glutenfree friend was unwell, this was the decision maker that no more visits will be made going ahead. The Landlady must learn how to greet guests and not be so rude as its not an ideal welcome to 'welcome' any guest with, no matter how busy or frustrated you may be feeling. If you cannot manage a simple meet and smiling greet you are in the wrong job. What a shame. The place has...

We just popped in here as we were passing. My Grandson loves a pie and it boasted home made pies. I'm usually very disappointed with pies, even in posh eateries but OMG 😲 the best pies we have EVER had. We were both getting quite full but had to finish it as it was so delicious 😋 they're not stingy with the fillings either absolutely phenomenal pies. A⭐️ The service was 5⭐️ too, pleasant polite staff really looked after us. It's a bit out of our way but we'll be back. I saw the gentleman's food comes out in front of us and the lady's behind me and honestly it's like gourmet food but plenty of it. Me and the lady behind had a chat she was blown away with her food too. I think we'll be regulars. Honestly give this cosy little pub a...

Me and my family booked a table for 8 tonight for my birthday. I’ve heard some really good things about this place but was never able to book in advance for special occasions as it was always fully booked. I can see why. The place is lovely, cosy; with great decor and special touches like cards and board games. That night there were only two guys manning the bar and restaurant, yet the customer service was great and timely nevertheless. Two men who obviously care and have a passion for providing good customer service! The food was knock out. My dad is very quick to say if he isn’t that into something but he was left silent. Good sign!! We’ll definitely be returning. By far, the best food in the Lymm/Agden...
