Decent recent addition to the local eateries available in Middleton-in-Teesdale, offering a broad range of food and drink at reasonable prices. All the food is freshly prepared and cooked, and offers good value for money. The food is of a high standard. The decor of the cafe is good, it is clean and neat. There is plenty of additional seating available upstairs, and even outside if you prefer. The staff are friendly, experienced and helpful.

A clean cafe. Spot on for customer service. Always busy when we visit Middleton in Teesdale. We always stop in this pretty little Town surrounded by the North Pennines,( show pictures). To I bought a crispy chicken baguette with salad, a lovely big cherry scone and a lemon Fanta all came to ÂŁ10 which I think is worth it. I definitely recommend.

A lovely cosy cafe with a fantastic menu and delicious food! As a group of 3, we had the cheese and onion toastie, steak baguette with chips (meat was so tender!) and a cheese scone. The cafe is dog friendly and there are water bowls outside. Staff were welcoming and friendly too. Would highly recommend!

Visited this morning as the cheese scones on the counter looked lovely and fresh. The one I was served came from the back and I could tell from a distance it didn’t look as fresh as the counter ones. I asked the waitress if it was freshly baked today and she said yes. In my experience it was not baked today. Stodgy and chewy. I asked the chef if I could change my mind and he said yes and took it away. There was no customer care and no offer for anything else. I sat with my coffee while my husband ate his sandwich. On paying the bill (scone removed) I asked if they made their own scones and waitress abruptly said yes upstairs.I commented saying the counter ones looked lovely and fresh and very different to the one she served me. She didn’t comment or apologise. We won’t be visiting again and as a local won’t be recommending winters cafe to our friends. Customer care and service makes all...

Although Winters cafe has been in the village for over a year, as a local I have only recently started to frequent the place. However it is now my favourite cafe as the food is all homemade and delicious. I have tried different things from the menu but my favourites are the tasty soups, and the home baked cheese scones. Also the date and pecan tart is totally amazing. The cafe is always warm and welcoming, and the staff are very friendly and helpful. Although poached eggs aren't on the menu, they will cook them for me so they are very accommodating, and they also have a good selection of vegetarian dishes. I have to say Winters is the best cafe in the village and my go to, for visiting friends...

A gem of a cafe! Me and my hubby travel to it most Saturdays and we are never disappointed. The food is excellent and very fairly priced too. Also, we are practically cheese scone aficionados and we cannot find better anywhere else - seriously good!

The customer service is just superb - little Sophie is such a hard-working, polite young lady and the owner and all the others staff are so friendly. We may not go every single Saturday, we will definitely ensure we visit very regularly....
