Popped in this afternoon with my wife & teenage son. We were looking for an authentic Devonshire tea room for a cream tea. It was relatively quite as it would have been after lunch on a Tuesday. The scones were lovely, they were really big & supplied with lots of cream & jam. I had a pot of tea which was really good. So often tea is an afterthought and is tasteless. Sat outside in the Devon sunshine and really enjoyed sitting eating and watching the world go by. Bought cake to take away and enjoy later after my birthday dinner. Will go back with no hesitation. The photo is of the petrol pumps that are in situ outside where you sit. I think it must have been part of the garage which is next door at some time.    Read moreI have driven past but never gone in until the other day. It was Exmoor day and I went to sample the Exmoor menu. The café is set on the river next to the bridge in the heart of Exmoor. The food was generous and tasty, from game soup, ploughman's, cream teas to a selection of delicious cakes. They operate takeaway for walkers who don't want to sit in.
