I couple of friends and I popped in from breakfast this morning (one of the only places locally that's offers breakfast). We were greeted with a smile and a genuine hello as we entered and a devine aroma of sweet treats. We all had the traditional breakfast and it there was no issue with us making a change/requests. The lady who served us was dutifully, and more than happy to help if we needed anything while we waited for out food. When the food arrived I was surprised at the amount of food on the plate. I unfortunately didn't get a picture as there was no way I waiting to indulge. It's was amazing! Everything was beautifully cooked, and the best part is was the proper runny fried egg! Delicious! 100% would recommend! When we went to pay there was an AMAZING display of cakes, tray bakes and scones. The lady behind the counter information is that they had even more cakes and goodies that they couldn't fit in their bursting display and goodness. If I hadnt already inhaled a massive breakfast I would have had a piece for sure!

The location is so scenic and beautiful and dog friendly. There is even a gift shop with local goodies in which I will be visiting sometime soon.

A beautiful place, great food and helpful...

We arrived at the tea room and gift shop after a trip out to the church at Gosforth and we were ready for some food and a drink by this time. The staff were friendly, we put our orders in and waited with anticipation for it to arrive. After a bit of a wait we got our drinks, four coffees which were really nice. We had pretty much finished our coffee by the time our food arrived so there was a bit of a wait and unfortunately one order was wrong as bread had been buttered whilst specifically asking for it not to be. However that was sorted after another wait. Our mains finished we decided to order four teas and four cakes for pudding. After another wait two cakes out of the four arrived which were consumed whilst we all waited for our tea and the other two cakes to arrive. Unfortunately in the end no tea or cake had arrived after what we considered to be too long to wait so we just paid for what we had consumed and left. I can't fault the quality of the food or the coffee we had but unfortunately we all felt the service let our experience of the tea room down.

Thanks for the reply we were there today...

Visited yesterday for breakfast. After reading other reviews we had high hopes. Arrived to an empty cafe so figured service would be fairly swift. Staff were friendly, but after ordering a breakfast and a bacon sandwich with two coffees we were left sat waiting 40 minutes for the food. Our coffees arrived quickly and were great, can't fault the coffee! However, we could've drank these 5 times over by the time our food arrived.

I was excited for the breakfast including treats such as fried bread and black pudding, but the bread was so over fried it was like eating bricks. I wasn't sure if the crunching was my teeth, or the bread. The black pudding, I was hoping for a a crisp outer, however this was still more mush than anything. Sausage was delicious, egg spot on, but the bacon was also overcooked and tough to eat (and I'm a fan of well-done bacon). My partner's bacon was extremely fatty so a lot of this ended up with our dog.

Venue is lovely though! If I'm waiting 40 minutes for food, at least the place was nice to sit and the staff were welcoming! Just a shame the breakfast was...

Had spotted this on the map and decided to give it a try. We weren't disappointed!! Turned up just as it was opening and despite its rural location, plenty people had also turned up. After a look around the gift shop, we ordered tea and cakes for 2. Delighted that they also included our boy in the treats and brought out his own wee plate of gravy bones. (That goes a long way when someone makes a fuss of my boy!) I had THE biggest most amazing piece of bannoffee pie. Even though it was breakfast time, I was working off 2 hrs of sleep so needed the sugar fix πŸ˜† . We loved this place and the staff were all very welcoming and we were served quickly. Would definitely recommend a visit here if you're in the area and if we come again would be making a pit stop for refreshments!! Thanks 😊

Stumbled across this place after I took a wrong turn, and we thought we should call in for a coffee and cake. How glad we did, they had a great selection of cakes/slices (we decided to go for the Baileys and Oreo slice). The slice was amazing as was the coffee. Would certainly recommend calling in here. Other people there were having high tea and it looked incredible and did the other food I saw come out of the kitchen. The staff were really friendly and there is a nice shop as well which sell various different bits and pieces, some of which would be perfect for gifts. Certainly worth making a trip here if you are in the area!

Called by after a bimble in Parkgate Wood. Sat outside on the glorious afternoon. Well spaced out tables. Wonderful friendly staff. A great selection on the menu. We were lucky and managed to get an Afternoon Tea even though we hadn't pre booked, they do recommend to prebook for the afternoon teas. We will definitely be returning, The picture includes the savory half of the afternoon tea, the dogs were even given a plate of treats so they didn't feel left out
