I don't usually write reviews because they take a lot of time, but this outstanding experience was definitely worth making an exception.
As a passionate foodie and admirer of the Great British Menu, I was already enamoured with Adam's fish dish before it even got its vote for the banquet. I began following him on Instagram, and once he revealed he would be serving the dish at Woven, I immediately made a reservation. Although I was excited, years of dining experiences have taught me to temper my expectations.
Without any doubt, Woven stands out as the finest one-star Michelin restaurant I have visited. In fact, I would not have hesitated to consider it worthy of two, or even three Michelin stars.
The appeal of Woven extends beyond the cuisine to the entire experience. The team is exceptional, providing a perfect mix of professionalism and personal touch, led by a General Manager whose dynamic presence clearly motivates the staff. We felt exceptionally cared for throughout our visit.
Now to the food: starting with the superb snacks from the pantry, which were outstanding. The eel dish deserves a special mention for its exquisite flavor.
I found it hard to resist finishing off the entire bread course—the assortment of breads and dips was stunning, and the butter was so delicious, I wish I could buy this!
This was followed by the most remarkable Thai green sauce I've ever tasted, accompanying the crab. What a fantastic dish.
As for the main, the much-anticipated GBM fish dish, this was even more impressive than I could have envisioned. Words are insufficient to fully describe its excellence. It was simply sublime. The wine pairings were equally remarkable.
The signature chocolate dessert struck a perfect balance between a hint of saltiness and rich Valrhona chocolate.
Just when we thought it couldn't get any better, we were given some of the signature chocolate to take home!
We were fortunate to visit on a warm, sunny day and took a walk afterwards, which only enhanced our appreciation of the beautiful surroundings.
Thank you for the hospitality. We will...
Read more99% 👌 Arrived at the stunning venue and were greeted by staff. Taken to our table and sat down. Ordered our drinks, soon arrived one right one wrong, superb seedlip rapidly replaced. We ordered our food, and then the sublime experience started. The first four amuse bouche were very varied, one nice two delicious and an eel dish that was possibly one of the finest flavours I have ever tasted! The five different breads and three dips with superb butter came next. Then our starters, it's hard to say which was better, both superb. Mains, my favourite Wagyu, so soft and tasty and a lamb dish equally tasty. The palate cleaner was pitched perfectly to do it's role. Desserts were amazingly tasty. We had Hawaiian Kona coffee, last time I had that was in Hawaii almost 12 years ago. They supplied us with four different petit fours, each very different but all superb The whole experience was one of the best we have had as I now arrive at 120 Michelin stars. Toilets spotless and frankly about the size of the downstairs of my house. Only disappointment.... Adam is one of food's great innovators and an exceptional talent with some of the best flavours and presentation we have ever seen. I have in the past met many of the chefs and loved the experience. We arranged before coming to meet Adam at the end of our meal, and were assurred it was all arranged, when we asked at the end of the meal, the agreed time, we were told he had left 30 minutes earlier for an industry meeting, really sad he couldn't take 1 minute just to pop out or if busy ask us to pop into the kitchen for a moment, must confess the only real disappointment in an otherwise perfect...

Situated in the natural daylight, the drawing room is the most perfect spot to have a cup of tea (glass of Verve Champagne) in the beautifully designed Drawing Room, experiencing afternoon tea hidden away in the woodlands of the Berkshire countryside. It was my first ever "high tea" and one to remember. It's a British tradition and what better and memorable place to experience it.
The highlight was actually Laurence playing on the piano - just wonderful music - including from a range of musicals. Absolutely sensational and made the afternoon just magical.
