Iām more than happy to give 5 stars after being in restaurant again. Service 1st class. Food delicious. You can feel you are welcome here. Love this placeš
Very unpleasant and disappointing experience. We used to come to this restaurant as a family for many years at least once a month. We had some signs of things going wrong direction on our last couple of visit. We decided to have another go today as we really liked them food in the past. I rated them very highly and recommended to many of my friends as the best place in our area if you like to eat good quality of lamb. Unfortunately recently a lot of things started to go wrong. Service used to be absolutely lovely, very positive stuff, always happy to chat and laugh with clients. That has unfortunately changed. Now walking to the restaurant you will be showed by member of the stuff where to sit. They couldnāt be bother to walk towards us and decided to shout from the distance. That happened to us today and it wasnāt even busy and the owner of the restaurant was seating at the bar and chatting with one of his employees. Not very nice welcoming. Anyway we were served by male waiter and he made a mistake which caused us getting launch portion instead of the main. I specifically asked him if the menu has changed as that one looks different to me. Anyway that wouldnāt be the end of the world. Mistakes happen. What was disappointing, was the way that issue was dealt by the owner of the restaurant. The female manager was absolutely lovely and offered us another portion etc. We didnāt really want that as we were with our autistic son, whom would have started to be inpatient. So we decided to pay and go. The manager gave us couple of cakes which was very nice. I wouldnāt take those but she really insisted. We still wanted to let them know about questionable portion. We were explaining that even if that portion was smaller that was unbelievable as I found on my plate only 3 very small pieces of lamb. This is unreal how they can scam customers like that. Our plate was full of very difficult to bite bread and around 500ml of yoghurt surrounded by some tomato sos. It looked that we got four portions of lamb made out of one skewer. Ridiculous. The owner decided to walk away without a world while we were explaining our complain. I just feel sorry for the manager as her good job has been ruined by her employer who should learn from her how the customer service should look. The Manager 5 stars, The owner 0 Wouldnāt recommend to go to place where some donāt appreciate you. I used to come back home from Efezade too full and today Iām...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWell at short notice I decided to pop in and see if there were any available tables, of which they replied ' yes but only by the front door '. I knew that there would be a draft sitting by the door which would be expected, I later asked to be moved to the table next to me once it was available and that was fine with the hosts(at this point leaving a tip gets mentioned jokingly whilst moving my food).
I get my main meal but had no plates to eat from which I had to ask for, the food was good but at lower level compared to other Turkish restaurants i have been to. During the meal they open the front door to allow air in they said knowing I moved because of the draft(there was air con available)#canstandtheheatstayoutthekitcken. At no point were we asked if we'd like another drink or if our meal was ok or anything, which in my mind adds justification towards a tip.
I pay my bill as usual by card which had no option to leave a tip by the way as I had no cash on me, I thanked the hosts and upon leaving the cocky and sarcastic Asian man (didn't catch his name, there was only 1 so you know who you are) proceeding to point at the blue folder your bill comes in and says 'thank you for leaving us this'. Basically implying that I should of left a tip, of which I would have if for 1 i had good service and for 2 if i had cash(again no option on the card machine). I must say I have never felt so angry and embarrassed by a restaurant waiter in all my adult life and proceeded to walk away saying not a word due to shock, I have in the past returned to restaurants where I have had minor issues with service/food. But for someone to make me feel like I was personally dipping their was pockets was disgraceful, I guess the guy has a big pair of balls or took some brave tablets but he may want to be careful with the next person he tries this with as they may not be as calm as I was.

Ā Ā Ā Read moreVisited Efezade Mezze Grill as part of a friend's birthday celebrations and overall had a really good time. Staff were friendly and welcoming and while the service was a little slow, likely due to the size of our group, I didn't mind this as it allowed the opportunity to catch up with everyone there. There's nothing worse than feeling rushed, and that definitely wasn't the case here. It had been organised beforehand that mixed mezze and and mixed grill would come out. When they did, the platters laid at the table were huge. Portions were hugely generous though personally I would have liked more lamb shish in place of the mini burger patties since there was already kofte. That said, the food was tasty and there was no going hungry. The restaurant itself is within walking distance of Debden station and it's not too bad getting parked if driving. There was an issue with the bill where we were overcharged by a considerable amount, though this was rectified the following day. Mistakes happen so it's aways appreciated when a restaurant admits it's wrong and makes things right. Though this isn't my closest Turkish, if I were in the area again or looking for middle ground, it would remain a solid...
