It’s my 2nd time here, and 1st time it was okish experience but that had been 3 years now, so I wanted to give it a try again as this restaurant is local to me. For mains in price of £11.95, one expects either flavours or presentation, this frankly didn’t stand out for me, too much spices doesn’t mean flavours. For starters, sambhar vada in £7.95 one expects decent size of vadas, these are not East London prices. Restaurant is decent but not for us when by spending 20% more I can have better experience in Central London with more flavourful food or paying 40% less can dine somewhere else in East London. Place is spacious, nice & decent, toilets were very clean. It was very busy on mother’s day & with young kids & family it gets noisy Staff were good, and were attentive in refilling water etc Though, this place is not something I would visit again easily as for me food was too much spicy, and for the prices I paid it was not worth it because portion size was not big either. Its decent option though, for those who don’t mind prices & spices.

Love this place! We were recommended it by an Indian friend and we have now been twice (with our kids who also love it) and it's been wonderful both times. When you drive up to it you feel like you've taken a wrong turn because it is proper tucked away, but as soon as you get inside the hospitality is great. The food all tastes home cooked, fresh and comforting, and it's a lovely relaxed environment. Everything we've had is great and we look forward to trying other things next time, but special mention goes to the amazing garlic king prawns, the chicken chettinand (excuse spelling!), the home made sheekh kebabs, and the amazing potato filled dosas. Amazing place and can't wait to return!

A Sunday! So similar to a few yrs ago, before covid & Academy footballers were having a drink here... Nothing was too much trouble & I was given 1st visit hospitality! Clean & sparkling, spacious inside & plenty car parking. (Not that I need it now, I'm liberated from metal polluting expensive box of a car. But I do have a bus pass!) I had been on a walk past the Bank of England, towards Theydon Bois. Beehives & rabbits & deer, I expect, needed wellys, as muddy in fields... Lovely small meal, which they treated me to! very authentic & fresh. I did buy a red vin & dessert. Soft peaceful music, A LITTLE HIDDEN GEM

Exceptional Service & Delicious Food – A Perfect Venue for Celebrations!

I recently hosted a surprise birthday party at Manjal Restaurant, and from the moment I considered this venue, Mano and his team went above and beyond to ensure everything ran seamlessly. Mano was incredibly helpful, always available to answer my questions, and very fair and generous in his approach. His flexibility allowed us to decorate the venue in advance, choose from a great food selection, and enjoy the event without any time-related stress.

Throughout the day, Mano and his staff were attentive and responsive, ensuring that every detail was managed perfectly. The food was simply exceptional! Mano made the tasting and selection process smooth and cooperative while also being accommodating with pricing. It was truly refreshing to work with someone who genuinely wanted to make the event special while keeping everything within budget.

All my guests loved the food—it was just as delicious as it had been during the tasting. Many even went up for second servings and took some home! Even when we overlooked serving teas, Mano quickly stepped in and offered a fair solution to keep everything running smoothly.

Overall, Manjal Restaurant exceeded my expectations, not only in their service but also in the quality of their food. If you’re looking for a reliable and accommodating venue to host an event, I highly recommend them. Thank you, Mano and the team, for making this celebration...

Absolutely Incredible Experience at Manjal Restaurant!

We hosted a birthday party at Manjal Restaurant on 12th July 2025 (last saturday), and from start to finish, it was an unforgettable experience. We had specifically requested Sri Lankan cuisine, and the chef and team absolutely perfected it. The food was phenomenal; it was authentic and full of flavor, loved by every single one of our guests. Everyone kept on saying about how delicious everything was, from the starters, main and dessert too, including the live appam station which everyone loved.

But it wasn’t just the food, the service was truly exceptional. The staff were so warm, welcoming, and attentive throughout the entire event. They went above and beyond to make our celebration special, and it really showed. So thank you so much to all of them.

The place itself has a lovely atmosphere, plenty of parking, and the kindness of the staff added a personal touch that made all the difference.

We are so grateful for the way we were treated, and we would highly recommend Manjal Restaurant to anyone looking to host a party at their party venue or just enjoy a great meal in their restaurant. Thank you to the whole team at Manjal, you made our day truly...
