Miller & Carter Epping Forest — Restaurant in Epping Forest

Me and my husband have been to different branches of Miller & Carter. So I fairly know the menu and how the food should be. Everytime we try to go in this branch in Epping, its always fully booked. But this time, i booked way in advance with my friend. I was soo excited coz it will be my first time in this branch. And since they're always busy, I was thinking that it might be really good in here. BUT I WAS DISAPPOINTED BIG TIME. My favourite starter is the house nachos! I love it sooo much that I always order it everytime we go to ANY miller and carter branch. But when my house nachos arrived at our table, it looked soooo sad. The 3 sauces (guacamole, cream, salsa) were sitting on top of the Nachos to cover the fact that there is no cheese on it! Nachos were so oily and undercooked! Oilier than my olives and staler than my 3 day old bread. BAD STARTER. The lady who served us asked how our starter was. And I told her "I didnt know you make medium cook nachos." And her reply is, "do you want me to leave the nachos on your table?" 🙄I replied "oh God no! Take it away. Thats not cooked." BUT, she just ignored what I said. Didnt even feel sorry about it. So, I moved on and didnt want to ruin a nice date with my friend. As I am the one who chose this place for us to meet. Our mains came and I think, this was the smallest steak I had in miller and carter. Me and my friend ordered the same mains. Mains arrived before the salad. 🙄 At least I am not THAT disappointed with my mains and i enjoyed it. Now, my favourite part. DESSERT! I tried all of their dessert but my favourite is the sticky toffee pudding! I was craving for it so we both ordered the same dessert as I recommend it. It looked good when it arrived at our table. (Here comes another BUT!) But i think they hurried using mic coz the inside part of my pudding is so dry and cold. 🙄 ANOTHER disappointment. One more thing is, I love their house sodas! Again, I tried all of it! BUT I think they are really saving on fruits. Our drinks came like an ordinary soda with puree at the bottom. NO EFFORT like in other branch. The temperature inside is chilly! The coldest branch ever. And you wont have any connnection/reception inside! Me and my friend have different phone provider but both of us cannot update our husbands where we are that moment. 🙄

Safe to say that I wont be bringing my husband in this branch and wont recommend to any other friend. I felt soo bad for my friend as I am the one who invited her in this branch. Also poor service! Slow and dont give a s* we had to keep asking for the things we need. The only good thing about this branch is they have huge parking space.

I recommend Miller & Carter in Chigwell! Better service, better food and drinks and better...

Stay as far away from this place as you can!!! This was a disaster from beginning to the end... Where do I even start... Maybe from ordering - it took us a bit time to order as we were with two small children and four adults. Each minute, the waiter came to ask what we would want to drink without giving us a moment of rest. So we decided to take two three course meals and one two course for kids and another cocktail. So let start with a small math problem - two courses for 33, one kids for 15 and one cocktail for 9.25 - 33*2+15+9.25 will come to 90.25, but the bill said 112... So be aware, they steal your money! Ok so for those of us who don't care for math, let me explain how it went... We took prawns, fillet and sticky toffee with greens for one course meal. Burata, another steak and chunky fries and brownie. The kids was steak with fries and cheese bread. We asked that whatever was ready will come out. And the wait began! 40 minutes for the steaks and they came first!!! Not the starters not the sides... Which one of them didn't even come (my chunky fries...). Then over 40 minutes for desert!! Which we ended up just boxing... We told them we didn't need anything just let us leave, they wanted to charge us even more without the deserts... At this point we didn't want them and they were yet to be boxed. Makes zero sense and was an overall a horrible experience. The girls lost it from all the waiting and we just wanted to go away at this point... Worst yet, we were waiting while all the dirty dishes were all over the table and asking to have them clear didn't help. He took a few of the dishes and left the others. Never to be back! The bill took another 30 minutes... Came with so many mistakes we didn't care in the end and just payed and left. They kept the bill to themselves as well!!! The place was not even full... the manager was no help at all. Just for your own sanity, stay away. Also, someone need to tell them that peas are not considered greens just because of their color... Greens should...

I said 2 years ago that ill never come back here after I was missing the apple puree form the pork meal and after chasing 3 members of staff and almost finishing my meal that some joker thought it funny to present me with a small hard apple briefly gridded. This followed on my my sister never returning after the manager at the time not accepting a booking of for fathers day eg 16 people as their rule was 15 (note that the 16th person was a young toddler). This was ashame as she brought alot of business to the restaurant.

So last night I didn't have a choice as I was looking after my Aunt who has dementia. She cannot eat spicey food and can't travel far so miller n carter epping was nearest and had a varied menu. Also food that she knows. We both ordered the lamb dinner. One med one med - one well done. Like the previous pork meal very tasty. Very nice. .... but! ... it wasn't until I'd eaten mine, my Aunt eats slow and I helped her by cutting her meat and broccoli up. I then noticed we'd been given the wrong lamb.... mine wasn't that red so I accepted this was the chefs med - well done but seeing my aunts lamb I could see that had been cooked more. Such ashame as she struggled to chew hers and then didn't want anymore. I would have preferred my meat cooked more as i requested. I did tell our waitress but not much of a reaction. It was a young girl that muddled up the dinners. Once getting my aunt home and then myself it occurred to me we were missing the pea and broad bean puree!!!!! Seriously????? Ffs!! 😤😖😠 2 years and later and I'm told a different chef and new staff and they still f it up!! The real shame of it is, both the pork meal and the lamb meal were really very nice.
