Seen the restaurant some time ago as I was driving by, looked very nice from outside, nice location as well. Reviews we're good, so I decided to take my girlfriend for her birthday to have some lunch. Ambience and atmosphere were delightful and welcoming, although the restaurant was empty. But guess that's kind of normal for a Tuesday lunch time , the location being slightly on the outskirts or Waltham Abbey. The manager was very welcoming and professional when I called to make the booking on the way there. We ordered 2 glasses of prosecco with our starters, rosemary and garlic flat- bread and burrata with fresh asparagus. Delicious as expected. For mains we ordered Gnocchi with sausage and truffle for my girlfriend and seabream Al cartoccio( oven baked in foil with chopped veggies) . It's been a while since I've had a dish served like that to be honest, although it looked intriguing. Basically the dish was served still in the foil "nicely" wrapped and shaped into a sort of boat. The Gnocchi were delicious, the seabream and veg to my opinion a bit bland tastewise. Also, the portions seemed a bit small considering the price on the menu. Small note: by the time we got our mains, we've finished the prosecco and hoped we'd get our drinks ordered at the beginning, a bottle of still water and a peach bellini. That didn't happen unfortunately. Only by the time we ordered the desert I had to ask for our drinks to be brought as no one, neither manager nor the waiter checked or asked to that point. They finally brought the drinks, and unfortunately the bellini was a disappointment as it barely tasted of peach and I'm pretty sure it was made with a small amount of peach juice. I've got quite a knowledge in cocktails and hospitality since I've been working for almost 20 year in this industry. So I can say the bellini was disappointing unfortunately. For desert we had a tiramisù and a panna cotta beautifully presented and served in coupes. Texture and taste were up to our expectations. At that point we still had the feeling we didn't eat enough where normally we're satiated. But that could be just our appetite playing up as we skipped breakfast that morning. Coming to an end of our experience, I ordered an espresso with some cold milk on the side. The coffee arrived with no milk on the side and to our surprise the bill was delivered straight after without us even asking for it. Overall I can't say we've had a lovely experience unfortunately. It was alright but I doubt I'd travel for 45 min to get that kind of service. Total of the bill was £100 with no service charge, so I did leave a...
Read moreFrom the moment I received a thoughtful call to confirm my 18:30 booking for 22 guests, I knew we were in for a professional and well managed experience. Although only 18 of us were able to attend, the hospitality we received from Primo Piatto exceeded all expectations and then some.
The customer service: 10/10 🌟 Absolutely impeccable. The staff were warm, attentive, and accommodating from the very beginning. A special mention to a lovely young lady who patiently walked both our tables through the menu, passionately describing the specials, and a kind gentleman who I believe, based on our receipt, may have been named Marchello who was equally attentive and helpful. Their genuine enthusiasm added a beautiful personal touch to our evening.
The atmosphere was cozy and inviting, with stunning aesthetics that struck the perfect balance between elegance and comfort. The restaurant was immaculately clean, the cutlery clean and the entire place had a vibrant yet relaxed vibe perfect for a large group dinner.
Now, the food… oh, the food! From the starters to the mains and right through to dessert, every dish was a showstopper. The calamari was a particular hit at our tables fresh, flavourful, and cooked to perfection. I also ordered a beautiful Salmone Alla Griglia delicious 😋 The presentation, portion sizes, and most importantly, the taste were absolutely flawless. Not a crumb was left behind a true testament to the skill and love coming out of the kitchen. Massive kudos to the chefs!
Our group’s bill came to £583.18, and let me tell you every single penny was worth it. Primo Piatto delivered a five-star dining experience from start to finish, and I genuinely cannot wait to return.

Read moreOn Tuesday this week, I visited Primo Piatto's in Waltham Abbey, for the first time, with my two friends, and we had the most amazing evening!
From the moment we walked in we were blown away with the beautiful decor and the cool, modern, contemporary vibe! The service was outstanding - very warm, friendly, attentive and personal, and the food was absolutely delicious!!
Everything looked and felt clean, modern and fresh (including the toilets) and I loved the fact that the restaurant had been designed so thoughtfully, to offer the choice of either, a vibrant social dining space, or a quieter, more intimate setting. The choice of background music and candles, plus pastel coloured flowers and fairy lights across the entire length of the ceiling, created a perfect ambiance throughout the night! It was so relaxing, it honestly felt like we were on holiday somewhere! It really was a wonderful experience, and the whole evening was rounded off with some complimentary shots, which was a very welcome gesture!
I had such a lovely evening, I actually went back to Primo Piatto's the following night with my sister to try out another dish. She too was similarly impressed, and like me, will definitely be returning with her friends and family in the near future!
Thank you Primo Piatto's for a truly wonderful dining experience! It's not often I bother putting a review online, as most places offer a like-for-like experience, but credit where credits due, you stood out, on both nights, for your high quality service and food, and I would highly recommend your restaurant in the future!
Best wishes, Joanna...
