I visited the Woodbine on the 20th July, with my husband and 9 year old daughter ... a warm summers day & the start of the school holidays and the start of our month off. We had read the reviews and decided to give it a try. However, our experience was not good! We ordered 2 burger meals and my husband pointing to the children's page, a children's portion of ham, egg & chips. When the meal.arrived we noticed our daughters meal was rather large. We asked the waitress if it was a childs portion. She said no and said we did not order a child's meal. My husband stated he had done so as he had the page opened on children's menu & pointed at the children's ham, egg & chips and had also quite clearly upon ordering said it was for our daughter. The waitress was quite argumentative & said if she changed it to a child's meal now.she would have to pay the difference!!! She disappeared, returned & told us the price difference was only.£4!! It was quite clear she was not going to change the price. Also when the bill arrived we were charged £1 for an extra of bacon even though the menu said 50p. She tried to make a peace offering of giving my.husband a coke on the house!! Why should we pay for her mistake. We obviously did not finish our meal or leave any.service and cannot give it more than a 1 star rating. If you.visit this restaurant be sure you.bring idiot cards with you!!
You asked me to describe the waitress ... I believe she may have been of Spanish descent with mid length wavy hair.

Read moreI took a friend to lunch at The Woodbine on Sat. It was a disastrous experience. We could have tolerated the fact that there was a very noisy party in the dining area, so consequently we had to dine in the bar room, right next to a pool table. Not an ideal dining space. We could have tolerated screaming children, chasing one another around our table & using our space as a playground but when the chef / manager asked me why i didn’t eat my lunch - to which I gave him my honest answer - he wouldn’t have it. A few minutes later he produced the said lunch on a saucer & again questioned my answer. That wasn’t enough for him, he returned to interrogate me yet again, constantly turning towards my guest for support. To say, we were both extremely embarrassed, even humiliated, is an understatement. What part of ‘no’ did he not understand? What part of ‘do not hassle the customers’ did he not understand? I found him hostile, overbearing & extremely rude. He totally spoilt our lunchtime experience at The Woodbine. We will most certainly not expose ourselves to this kind of treatment again. Two very...
