Where do I begin? I do regular food reviews and get excited when I find the exception because they are rare when it comes to ticking all the right boxes from customer service to the quality of food. I also look at how the disabled & very ill are treated. The staff were excellent from the minute they took my call to my order the next day. Sunday. They are a credit to the Stag. I am very ill & cant go into public areas or leave my car without wheelchair assistance. It was not a problem for the lovely ladies who came to my car, took my payment and brought my Sunday roast to me. My carer was at my house by the time I returned home. The food was well packed and nice and hot. To my surprise I was blown away by the good portion size. I just managed to fit it onto my biggest plate. The lamb was tender & full of flavour. The vegetables were not overcooked and held that slight crunch which is how they should be. The Yorkshire puddings were large & perfect. The roast potatoes were the star of the plate. Ive had many roast spuds but those potatoes are the best ive ever had. Golden and crispy on the outside and incredibly fluffy on the inside. Good size too. The gravy was the finest with a strong and morish mint sauce to compliment. It was a roast to the highest standard and good value for money. My compliments to the chefs because im hard to please. Let's get to the good old traditional crumble. Its the first crumble ive had in many years that wasnt a soggy slop. It came in a good size container. The flavour and 2 fruits burst in your mouth and the crumble was crunchy and gently fell apart on contact with the oral palate. The flavour twangs your tongue and very nice. The custard wasnt too runny or too thick and it was a volcanic eruption. Flowing. I could go on for ages about what l liked about the whole takeaway experience. How im treated as a person with serious health issues is where this pub and its restaurant shines. It stands out. Its not just about food. Its about how you care for customers. Those who care about their customers care about food and to get that exceptional experience the restaurant must cover both customers including those who are disabled or vulnerable right through to the food itself. The Stag has far exceeded my...
Read moreIf I could give more than 5 stars I would! We went for lunch here on Sunday and we called 20 mins before, our mistake, but the waiter was very accommodating and reserved a table for us! Now, when we arrived we were greeted and shown our seats and instantly made to feel at home. The waiter then came over to take our order and we of course had to go with the roast! But my mum doesnât eat too much and so she (the waiter) recommended to go with the kids portion as itâs more than plentiful. The food arrived quickly and even with an extra serving of potatoes (which Iâll get onto) from the kitchen! The meal was served with lots of laughter and good vibes thanks to the cosy atmosphere of the Pub. The roast itself was amazing; I had the gammon, it was thinly cut which wasnât usually how I have it but was definitely delicious. The sides of shaved parsnips and stuffing as well as veg medley partnered with the food perfectly. Now the potatoes, the star of the show, I donât know how they made these but they were super crispy and crunchy on the outside and super super soft on the inside. The best potatoes Iâve had hands down and they definitely knew it as well! From the start to the end of the meal, everything was perfect!
Thanks again! Will definitely recommend going with family, friends or even by...
Read moreI must say, I was thoroughly impressed by the exceptional quality of the food and the outstanding customer service at this pub. The staff went above and beyond to ensure our satisfaction and actively sought feedback from us. The food was simply exceptional. Each dish was bursting with flavor and beautifully presented. My personal favourite was the chilli which was absolutely excellent. The menu also offers mouthwatering desserts such as baked cheese cake, sticky toffee pudding and apple & pear crumble which we had the pleasure of trying. The crumble was delectable. Without a doubt, I highly recommend this pub/restaurant. The combination of excellent food, superb service, and delightful ambiance make it a must-visit establishment, and dog friendly, Ruby out Jack Russell got treats and water and...
