A place to avoid if you have children. This is one of the most bizarre places I've ever visited to eat, which you will appreciate if you have, or ever intend to visit here. There are a lengthy list of rules on posters, black boards and even an Alexa making announcements regarding restrictions around what children should and should not be doing. Staff seem to have an active hatred towards children. So much so I've been confronted by staff on more than one occasion for where my child has chosen to sit. The most recent incident today was a staff member confronting me to say he had been observing my 2 and 4 year old on CCTV running around and pulling on a chain curtain (to stop flies). Neither of these things were happening and I am hyper vigilant of my children's behavior. They are good kids and we were planning to dine there. After being accosted by a staff member, he became confrontational towards myself in front of my two daughters and stormed off. Needless to say this made me feel incredibly uncomfortable. I'm not sure why staff here are so hateful towards children and families, especially when they are a business directly attached to a small farm which attracts young families. I've visited here previously and tried to take it with a pinch of salt, but today's visit has put me off visiting again. I don't know of any other independent restaurants or cafes that have such a lengthy list of rules aimed at children nor any chain restaurants for that matter. We have dined here previously, but left today before ordering anything due to how rude staff were and how uncomfortable we felt. Maybe they could save on the posters, the Alexa and the CCTV and just not allow children? But I guess that's their bread and butter? A strange way to run a...
Read moreVisited here on a Tuesday about 12:30.
There are two dining areas, one for families that have children under ten, and another area for families with older children, along with an outside area.
I had a standard breakfast and the wife had an omelette with chips.
Sadly, the breakfast was not that great. The only thing I can think of that made me dislike it was they used quite obvious, cheap ingredients (beans, bread, hash browns)
I completely understand that in today's business environment savings have to be made, but for £11.30.... just get some decent ingredients and don't be afraid to charge more.
I'm not sure what happened with my wife's chips, but they had a very weird texture to them on the inside. With the chips either costing around £5 on their own, or bumping a meal up by an extra £5 you would think they would be semi decent. I could be wrong, but I think they were just cheap frozen chips that had been deep fried. Again, cheap and poor quality ingredients being very apparent.
Sadly, I wouldn't visit here again. There are a huge amount of cafes that are comparable in cost with much better ingredients. Which is a shame because everything...

After sitting in the quieter area due to having a child with autism who likes quiet and doesn’t speak and gets easily overwhelmed by noise we were told we either had to sit in a dedicated child area with lots of noisy children and babies or leave. This does not comply with legislation to incorporate and include people with disabilities access to public service such as a sit down meal. Due to this I have reported this establishment to the correct authority and put a warning on anyone else with children of disabilities to be aware in their words “they don’t bend the rules regardless of what you have”
I’m sure your food is delightful and the staff were really kind and apologetic almost embarrassed for the behaviour of the owner here as my son was so quiet they didn’t even notice him until we tried to order him food and were told we can’t sit in...
