Heart Of Oak — Restaurant in Exeter

We visited (party of 3) on impromptu decision to eat out after busy day at work. Having not booked, we walked into the pub all set up for quiz night, that meant all tables in the main bar were taken. However, the staff made a big effort to clear up and make room for us in the rear snug. We then ordered veggie nachos, and burger/fries. Our daughter ordered a bowl of chips. The nachos were delicious and plentiful, same with chips. The burger was undercooked, but the staff immediately apologised, refunded the burger money, and replaced - this time with a well cooked and delicious meal.

Beer is sometimes iffy every time I have doom bar here I have gut Rot the next day. Ordered nachos for a light snack they are £4.50 you can add chili beef or pulled pork for £1.50 bringing total price to £6. We decided not to add any meat which confused them entirely the cook came and asked us to double check that we didn't want the additions which we confirmed when it arrived it seems without adding extras you forefit the salsa and guacamole which left us with a hand full of cheap tortilla chips with a cheap cheddar on top not worth the money at all will...

Booked a christening, was supposed to have the restaurant to ourselves but had to have company of another party, asked the manager when they were leaving and was told they would be out promptly but they were there until the end. Pub is nice and good atmosphere, unfortunately the buffet food was very poor all food is bought in, cheap quality and only sandwiches made by kitchen staff.
