It's taken about a month for me to get over what happened. My two best friends got engaged and it was also her birthday.(I made them aware when I booked) I thought I'd treat the happy couple to a fancy meal. What a joke. Service was ridiculously slow even though it was almost empty when we arrived. It took us 45 minutes to get water and place our order. Other tables, that arrived after us, had already received their food. After the second hour of being there, we still hadn't received our food. Tables that were sat after us had already finished and left. My dad ended up calling the restaurant to complain, as they weren't taking it seriously. After two hours of being there our food finally came out. We were starving. Unfortunately just because the food was here didn't make it ok. The steaks were cold and tough. Everything tasted like it has been under a heat lamp for hours. We ended up sending everything back except from the potatoes. Which we all picked at for another 30 minutes while they remade every. We were told it would take them 15 minutes to redo everything (even though it had taken over an hour for them to cook it the first time) we were about to walk out when they bought it over. After two and a half hours we no longer cared about anything. We would have started to eat walls if they had taken any longer. We were looking on Uber eats to see if they'd deliver (they do btw) The food was ok. Not amazing bearing in mind how long it took us to get this point. We skipped dessert as we only got 4 hours parking and were genuinely scared it would take them another hour to get ice cream. They gave us a discount for the inconvenience. Honestly I didn't care about saving money. I'd rather have just paid the £300 and actually had good food and service. We had to speak to the manager about 4 times during all of this. He seemed ok but obviously it didn't fix the issues. Our server treated us like an inconvenience rather than paying customers. We are all in our 20s, so I wonder if because we looked younger, we weren't worth their time. I'd rather drive for 2 hours to get food somewhere else than eat there again. So much for...

Absolutely fantastic evening we had here on Saturday. We were in a pickle as to where to book for a promotion celebration, and one of our group mentioned Miller and Carter. Myself not being a fan of beef, steak, allergy to shellfish I was very reluctant to book but still did so as the evening wasn't about me. When we arrived we were greeted by a lovely waiter who ushered us to our table. Once seated, we had menus first handed to us ladies, then the gentleman of our party. We were asked about any allergy and dietary requirements to which were explained, and then the drinks order was taken along with our food order. The time frame between our starters arriving and mains were just perfect, enough time to chat amongst ourselves, order more drinks and allowing the starters to settle and then perfect timing for the mains to arrive. The starters were a perfect setting of the standard of food we were yet to receive. Then out came the steaks and the 1/2 chicken for myself and as much as I was disappointed in the fact there was very little to choose from for someone who doesn't like beef/steak I was blown away by the flavours in each mouthful (only disgruntle is it needed a little more of the chorizo and sauce as the chicken was slightly dry once the sauce was finished) The rest of the party were in awe of how flavoursome, how the steak melted in their mouth and all were done to perfection. I was truly grateful for such an amazing experience here because the price does look a bit steep and you hope it's not a bad experience for the prices but we absolutely were not disappointed, we had great food and a lovely evening celebrating my husbands promotion. We had a wholesome experience here and fulfilled our expectations and more. Thank you to the team. We shall most definitely...

Called in today on our way back from visiting killerton house and gardens ( national trust ). We stopped here a few years back when we brought our niece to look round Exeter university. We were given a friendly welcome and that someone would be with us in a minute..we were shown to our table and that our waitress would soon be with us.. Our waitress ' Nissa ' was friendly and on the ball from start to finish..always attentive to us and her other guests from what we noticed. We had the set menu which we believe is good value. I started with the sticky chippottle chicken which I always have and my wife had the Halloumi fries.. both well presented and tasty.. Our mains..I had the 7oz rump steak served with onion loaf and chips and the wife had the signature steak sandwich but asked not to have the ciabatta bread as she finds it too filling..they came out just as ordered and lovely and hot..love the beef dripping sauce that we both had. Nissa always making sure we were catered for and if we required more drinks. We didn't have room for pudding but we took away two portions of profritaroles and choc sauce to have later..( which were scrummy) Anyway we would deffinatly recommend this restaurant as everyone seemed polite and showed good professionalism towards the customers..welldone all and big thankyou to nissa who...

I've wanted to try a Miller & Carters for ages and this was my first time. The food was amazing, out of this world and my steak cooked to perfection so why the 3 stars I hear you ask. Well 1 for the building and decor which is lovely, 2 for the food as I said fantastic and 3 for the waiter or more of an order taker that was friendly and funny. Where they lost stars is firstly we had amendments to our order and they got everyone wrong. 1 asked for no butter on their steak and he got 2 on it, another asked for no cheese on their lettuce and they got loads and another upgraded their chips to sweet potato fries and you guessed it they got normal fries. The second star lost was for the drinks, very very weak cocktails to the point I could barely taste any alcohol and secondly they wouldn't swap things out on my meal with things off another meal which I found bazaar as it's all meant to be cooked fresh. My other gripe is we had 3 or 4 different people serving food to our table and our waiter/order taker didn't even know we had our starters so our mains took far to long to come out, nearly 40 mins between courses which is far to long. So to sum up the food is amazing and the service is lagging. Won't put me off Miller & Carters though just won't be going to that one again.

I don’t often write reviews but felt compelled to this evening. The food from the set price menu was delicious and well cooked. The steak was really well cooked (which you’d hope!), the Burratta starter was really good also & the sticky toffee pudding was lovely. The restaurant had a nice atmosphere etc and wasn’t too busy. The reason for my review was to highlight the exemplary job done by one of the waiting staff, Erlina. Erlina made me feel very welcome, asked if I’d like a hand with the menu, checked in on me throughout and did so with a lovely warm professionalism. Having worked in hospitality myself, I really appreciated her attention to detail & friendly personality. She did mention that she hadn’t been there long but you wouldn’t have known. Erlina is a credit to Miller & Carter. As I said, I don’t often write reviews but when you’ve had a really nice time, made better with the care and attention from fantastic staff…. I think it’s a good thing to share. Thank you for a lovely evening & keep up the great work. Needless to say, but I will definitely be back.
