I Went there to buy a sofa and chair what i bought and what was delivered bore no resemblence accept for the colour . I am not going into details here but i extend an invitation to the C.E.O. of furniture village to view and discuss my purchase and any member of F.I.R.A. to also view my purchase. Will i shop here again NO . Would i recomend to a friend not if i wish to keep that friend. I purchased the gamma corner sofa and the island chair and because they are not from the same range i paid extra to have them both covered in a higher grade leather of the same colour and grade. I was also assured by the manager of the exeter branch that they would both be checked over before delivery to ensure that they met requirements this did not happen in either case. The island chair i purchased on apearance looked ok but on closer inspection i found uneven trimming of the chair not what you expect on a custom order that you pay extra for also the swivel mechanism is not very good it creaks and does not run smoothly not what you want when trying to relax. Comfortwise it needs a lot cusions to make so defeating the object of having a big chair also it is not round not good for a round swivel chair, which means it now takes up a unnesesary amout of room also not good. The gamma corner sofa wow whoever made and passed this needs to go to specsavers. Firstly it is not covered in the same grade of leather , secondly the two halves do not match in so many ways. They are built to two different scales and do not go together properly. One half is built that badly i don't think it has a single right angle on it , it is higher and wider than the other half the upholstery slopes down and up in a most percular manner , no one has found it comfortable i could go on but i don't think i have enough battery for that. So in conclusion the furniture should never been allowed to leave the factory even tho it was, the recieving depot should have checked it over and sent it back they didn't even tho i was assured by the manager of the exeter branch that they would , so all trust there is gone. Paying extra for higher quality / grade of leather did not happen either. Overall quality of the product puts it in the reject bracket to many faults overall. Do i feel ripped of YES Does this inspire me to shop here again or recomend this company NO So overall rating gamma corner sofa 1out of 10 , Island chair 2 out of 10 , overall customer satisfaction considering the false assurances and i paid in cash 0 out pf 10 So any one thinking of up grading their furniture this is not the place to go . Had castelan furniture inspector down today only took 3 weeks the result of the inspection is both pieces of furniture should never have left the factory the undercarriage of the island chair not constructed properly and made cheaply. The gamma corner sofa not upholstered properly and should not have left the factory . So as it stands at the moment i have been sold cheap reject furniture from china that i paid full price for when i could have got just as good for a lot less elsewhere and i do not get it replaced they are going to try and fix it so instead of nice new furniture what i actually got for my money is reject furniture that they are going to ajust. I am thouroughly disgusted you pay all that extra and all you get is a fake smile and promise and a shed load of agro so save your money and...
Read moreTheir 2 year guarantee is worthless, poor fabric quality and terrible customer service! We replaced our leather DFS sofa of 15 years with a leather sofa from furniture village, from the fay they delivered it I knew there was going to be issues. One the delivery day the 2 seater sofa was damaged when the delivery guys bought it into the house, the middle foot of the 2 seater was snapped off by the delivery guys. We told them at this point to take it away as it was damaged and was told this wasn’t possible and to call customer service (which we did) we told customer service that we wanted a new replacement and were told that a technician had to come and assess the damage first. Anyway long story short after a LOT of back and forth we eventually got a new replacement 2 seater sofa. Fast forward 18 months and we noticed the fabric had started to peel away on the head rest of the 4 seater sofa, again I contacted the customer service team and again a technician was sent out to assess the damage. We he came he took a look and then asked me if anyone sat in the seat where the damage occurred, obviously people do sit there and I was told that if people take medication the toxins from their head can cause this kind of damage! I just want to clarify this is a sofa costing thousands of pounds! Eventually when the report was sent to furniture village I was told that this damage was not a defective of the fabric and there was nothing they would do! I immediately sent an email back saying I wanted to discuss this decision further, that was April last year and I have never heard anything since! I then noticed a couple of months later that the leather had started to perish on the seater of the 2 seater in a location that is not sat on and so is impossible to be “wear and tear” This has been by far the worst piece of furniture I’ve ever purchased and I will never by a single thing from furniture village again and tell others to avoid it! 2 years on I need to replace the sofa but can’t because I’m still paying for this...
Read moreI walked in to the store to be met by an efficient young man who explained the COVID procedures and advised me of the layout of the store. I took a walk around and a loitering salesman looked me up and down and walked away to stand elsewhere in the store. I then approached another group of three store assistants who were chatting and the senior one of them asked what I was looking for and I said a comfy, burnt orange velvet 2.5 seat sofa that was no more than 180cms wide. He pointed to three nearby sofas, none of which were what I was seeking, and none came in burnt orange. He then said that he couldn't help me and went back to his group of sales people and carried on talking to them. On my way out of the store I saw a comfy looking yellow sofa and tried it out. I then loitered by it waiting for a sales assistant. The initial salesman who ignored me continued to see me and pretend he was busy. The three at the back of the store were engrossed in their social conversation. After a couple of minutes of standing there I began to walk out of the store and on my way I asked another sales assistant about whether the yellow sofa also came in burnt orange. This sales assistant was helpful, friendly and polite and I bought the sofa. Had it not been for Cindy Emmerson (the helpful sales assistant) I would have never visited Furniture Village again. The rest of your sales team, senior or otherwise, need a swift lesson in customer service or firing. If it was my firm, I'd certainly choose the latter option for the first guy who just ignored me. I've given you one star because you had a sofa that was close to my requirements, and one star is because Cindy was helpful. You lost 3 stars because I nearly walked out before any of your sales team could be bothered to actually sell...
