Great food, great staff, lots of variety on the menu - good portion sizes so.when you order a jacket potato comes with good sized side salad, drinks reasonable as is the tea & coffer, dogs allowed in in certain areas of pub but dog friendly, gave my dog few treats doc 🖒 which he loved. Outdoor sitting area front of pub & back which is the garden bit also has a children's play area at back & indoors to other side of bar, has a lovely conservatory area which is great to sit in to have your food overlooking garden, if you have a special occasion would be great to sit in there to celebrate. Would definitely recommend Twisted Oak, girls at bar were really friendly, polite & looked very smart! Nothing top much trouble - I asked for more milk with my tea & was offered either a cup or mug. I would go back again as really enjoyed my jacket potato with prawns lunch, my only only criticism would be --- in a way slightly too much on offer with the menu choices, think they could streamline it abit & maybe point out a daily specials board for lunch & evening options instead of such a large menu; as we sat pondering the menu choices for ages & kept changing our minds! Guess that'll make us go back to try something else that's if we decide! But really like the place so would go back &...
Read moreBooked Sunday Lunch two months ago. Decided to review so hopefully they can improve some aspects although I wont be returning. Booked on the Saturday and was told we would be in the main bar so brought the dog. Upon walking in at 12 we were greeted by an abrupt "I hope you have booked a table because otherwise you wont be eating!?". Then told to put the dog in the car as we were now in the conservatory. Shown to table, asked for a high chair which was brought and dumped by the side, we assumed we therefore had to set it up by the table. The two behind the bar were complaining about another staff member looking for a TV remote instead of doing work. Tried to order drinks - Doom Bar barrel needed changing so that wasnt available (odd considering it had first opened) so ordered a lager, then the server tried charging us anyway for the Doom Bar! Food was good on the whole although the server didn't want to give me a plate for a baby to eat a couple of peas off which I thought was a little unfair.. Tables small and shoulder to shoulder (at least in the conservatory). I would also suggest not having the sauces in the middle of the corridor to the conservatory. Upon going home I got a disgruntled phone call asking why I hadn't turned up...
Read moreThe food was so bad that we didn't have to pay. The manageress told said that they had a trainee cooking the food but no one was over seeing them so food was going out to customers burnt, the peas had been boiled so long they were no longer green, the mash potato wasn't mashed, the mac n cheese was straight out a tin and was yuck, We were told they would bring some drinks over as an apology but the drinks never turned up. I had even emailed all our orders over 2-3weeks before hand so they had plenty of time to plan our meals. Also the new play area was really good apart from the metal bar that goes across above the slide my my almost 2 year old smacked his head on and now is going around with a very swollen eyebrow. The bar needs to be covered in foam. We won't be going back to this pub . Very disappointed as this was a big family meal to celebrate my sons 2nd birthday and my...
