Empire Kitchen — Restaurant in Fareham

Hi guys

First time ordering and was legit blown away.

Arrived quick, not greasy at all and the portion size was immense.

The order:

Mixed kebab starter: juicy, good sized and well cooked.

Chicken samosas: crisp and delicious

Lamb rogan josh: I never ordered this as so many times what you get is bland or thin. This was legit stunning and probably nicest I've had. Restaurant quality, thick sauce and lamb was plentiful and not overcooked.

Chicken Darjiling: chicken cooked perfectly, spicy but not too spicy. Sauce thick and again restaurant quality.

Brinjal Bharji: stunning

Mixed rice: couldn't fault.

Keema naan: standard but if I had one complaint, is that it was slightly soggy.

So overall this wad a stunning takeaway and restaurant quality!

It's not the cheapest but you get what you pay for and the portion size was fantastic. I'm greedy and you'd easily feed 3 with the above and 4 if your a reasonable portioned unlike me 😀

In a word - sensational. When I first considered ordering from Empire Kitchen around a year ago now, I was a little apprehensive as it wasn't a 'pure Indian', it had a grill attached too. I needn't have worried. The curries here are like nothing else I have ever experienced, and Empire Kitchen quickly became my takeaway provider of choice, probably after the first mouthful.

I'm not exactly sure why, but the food here is just SO flavourful. Perhaps a critic of Indian restaurants would have a simple or critical explanation for this - I simply do not care. I regularly frequent traditional Indian restaurants and for flavour, only the very best come close to EK. If I were to be placed on death row and given one last meal, a lamb madras, pilau rice, and a keema naan from Empire Kitchen would undoubtedly be my choice. After six brilliant orders, I thought it's time to post a review... We've tried the Indian dishes, shakes, burgers, dirty fries and it has been spot on every time. We always order directly with them and pick up to get the discount, never had any issues. The standard has been consistently high and they have a top hygiene rating- if they keep it up, we won't be ordering takeouts anywhere else.

Edit after 5 months - I wonder if standards are slipping... we ordered a chicken and a beef burger last weekend. No idea what's changed but they were soggy, in cheap tasting buns and just didn't taste as before. Chips didn't taste fresh either. The lamb doner wrap was ok but pretty bland. Will stick to their Indian dishes...
