Not many stars because we didn't eat but a nice little pub that serves food, but not on Mondays as per website. However google showed open so I phoned and they were actually open on the Bank Holiday Monday until 7pm so we enjoyed a couple of drinks. Food sign was out also so could have confuse anyone driving past then who may decide to stop for food and have no luck. Didn't affect us though as we had checked their website as per their recommendations to other reviewers and general public on here. The former beer barrels now urinals are neat as are the animal drawings in the dining area. All in all a nice visit.

It was the first time we'd been to the Sportsman since it reopened and we were not disappointed. We received a very warm welcome by the 2 ladies who were running the bar/food. They were friendly and helpful. Nothing was too much trouble. It was my birthday and they put a candle in my baguette, such a caring little touch. The food was also amazing and well worth the money. We will definitely be going back.

A gorgeous country pub with a traditional range of beers and a warm welcoming fire ! The theme nights are an absolute must - having just enjoyed a game meat night - it did not disappoint. It’s quite clear the chef is passionate about his food ! Along with great staff and a clean well looked after establishment- this is a gem to have on our doorstep.

Looks nice.. I go past it daily to get to a pub that is accessible to large electric wheelchairs, unless I have someone who can be my bar runner...

Not the owners fault or the staff who are wonderful and do the very best to help.. This would be a 5 star rating but unfortunately outdated legislation for listed buildings means I am forced to drop a star..

No point having a wheelchair accessible toilet if the entrance is too small to fit an electric wheelchair through. It's the controller that sticks out. However ramps are available for smaller manual chairs. 👍

Disgusting as they spent thousands jumping through hoops to be compliant getting it doing it up and looking really nice, that government won't amend or allow laws that no longer are fit for purpose.

Well done guys you have done wonderful with what has been allowed.. I know if you could you would, maybe a service window for me to go drive through lol. Yeah I know don't drink...

Lovely old pub I used to go there in my late teens and 20s for the disco in them day's. Really been up and accessible for disabled people like myself. It has kept a lot of it's original features of the day's when I used to go 50+ yrs ago, but it is so clean and everything seems to sparkling clean. Extremely friendly staff and welcoming. Real fire for those winter days. Iwas told that they have live music at times on Friday's i think? Good choice of ales and lagers and wine, very good prices for all drinks. Very extensive menu, I can't even start to think about the choice and really good prices for a village pub. Me and my fiance went on valentine's day and had a cheese board and, it came with a good bottle of wine to take away, and just for good measure my partner got a rose. Will definitely be going back...
