As per another reviewer, the owner is very rude. She runs a cafe in a country park that hinges on the water running through it, but demands shoes off inside if they're muddy. We went in and had 3 toddlers with us who went sprinting in. One of them had muddy boots and got a toddler foot size splodge of mud on the industrial hard wearing carpet.
The owner came steaming out and said "right whose got mud everywhere, there's a big sign on the door you know"
And stormed off to furiously ring a little bell in the kitchen for a few minutes.
Everything is veggie and well priced, but as toddlers are wont to do, don't necessarily want a nutloaf roast, or something, theyd like toast. On being asked for toast she snapped "that's not on the menu".
To her small credit, it turned out toast wasn't too taxing and her two staff made it with jam and peanut butter and the like, and the kids were thrilled.

Read moreFirstly, the food & food choices are lovely and of course a beautiful setting. However, the lady in charge could not be ruder. I visited the first time and she was very rude, but I let it go. Then on my 2nd visit recently her rudeness was off the scale. She was angry that my toddler had dropped some pasta and she then subsequently tried to take his meal from him when he had loads left because she did not want any mess (I had to tell her quite firmly that, no, she could not take the meal), she started sweeping under our feet whilst we were eating and generally let us know that she wanted us to leave. It was horrible and sadly it seems like this is how she treats people. But she has a captive market, so she does not seem to value the business.
Without this rudeness, I most definately would...
Read moreWaited for over 45 mins for our food. When it finally arrived, we were still waiting for one more dish (just pasta) which then took a further 10 mins to arrive. No apology from the staff regarding the delay. I know it was cheap but the food was less than ideal, soggy green beans, the pasta was tiny (no idea why it took nearly an hour to cook some plain pasta). If you eat inside the cafe you will be eating around boxes and stacked chairs. Most disappointed with the lack of service from the staff. If you are running late with your orders, at least have the courtesy of apologising instead of making the customer feel in the wrong for asking where their food is. Definitely...
