Bicky’s — Restaurant in Forest of Dean

Took my parents into Bicky’s today as we were out on a leaf 🍁 peeping road trip for the day, and I factored in a stop in this town. Consulted Google for a decent cafe to have a break, a drink and a bite to eat while being close to a parking spot for my dad to not have to walk miles and came across Bickys. Wow what a fabulous clean welcoming cafe this is. A daughter and mum own this cafe and you can tell how proud they are of it. I wish we lived closer because this would be my regular for sure. In these difficult times I try my best to support independent companies and today was no different. We must all do our bit for the independents out there and urge you all to visit Bicky’s and see just what a gem this place is. Ps btw they have the cleanest and smartest toilet I’ve ever seen in a cafe. Thanks to the daughter I spoke to today for making us all feel welcome 🤗 and we truly enjoyed our drinks and sandwiches and my parents would like to add the toasted tea cakes hit the spot just right. Catered superbly for 7 cyclists turning up at 11am on Saturday, unanounced. Excellent selection of breakfast foods and some delicious cakes to boot. Great coffee too. The lady in charge was brilliant and very engaging. No problem leaving our bikes where clearly visible the other side of the glass window right next to where we were seated which was reassuring. Will definitely plan further cycling routes from Portishead around a cafe...

Bicky did the food for my mothers 80th party. The food was spot on for our requirements. Plenty for the guest. Staff were friendly and went out of their way to be helpful. They even went out to get more for one guest who would only eat one type of vegetable. The standards were high. Care was taken to ensure the food stayed fresh on a very warm day. I would highly recommend them...
