The George Cafe — Restaurant in Forest of Dean

This place is fantastic. They have a great selection of food, their soup was delicious, their coffee was the (second) nicest I have ever had (the first was from a coffee shop in Bath), the staff were very friendly, the place was clean, tidy and well decorated. They have an outside courtyard, a family room, seating in the gallery upstairs, baby changing, clean toilets, and locally reared meat to buy. I can't recommend this place enough. As of 2013, they don't have a website, which is a huge shame as it has taken us years to discover his place, though we have been canoeing on the Severn many times from nearby...

Beautiful and welcoming newly refurbished café and art gallery. Mainly run by friendly volunteers, who do an amazing job! Lovely coffees, teas and cakes, cool drinks and iced coffees. Incl gluten-free and vegan cakes. Recently also now offering lunch. We had the pea and mint soup, which was delicious. Child friendly with a kiddies play corner. Also baby changing facilities. Dog friendly. Really nice courtyard with outdoor seating. A great community...

Came across this fantastic Community run Cafe by chance a couple of days ago. Popped in & had the most delicious poached eggs on toast (with smashed avocado) and was so impressed that I've called in again today to have another bite to eat.
