The Wye Fry — Restaurant in Forest of Dean

I went here 1 week ago to the day and though was a sign on the counter saying cash only they accepted a card payment as they did with another customer who placed a large order . All well and good .

Today a big Drama about using cash though eventually let me pay by card . I asked what the problem was to be told he'd have to put the prices up . I can assure people that the cost of using card payment options to such a business is minimal. I believe the real reason is more about the tax man and declarations .

On top of his (I presume the owner) manner of ORDERING his young female staff around is deplorable.

I personally will never set foot in the place again as long as said person has anything to do with it .

Tram stop coleford have no such issues and I'll use them from now on .

To add . Today Saturday I looked at His Google listing and it does say they take card payments . But cry...

This was our first experience of the Wye Fry For my birthday l wanted to have fish and chips from the wye fry and sit by the river and enjoy them. Today we phoned the order through about 5.25. We picked up our order 5.50 went and sat by the river. Opened our fish & chips were surprised how dark the batter was we did start to eat it but weren't happy with either.Some of the chips had black areas and the batter on the fish was really over cooked fish it's self was dry. Came in last Friday, ordered a classic fish and chips the young lady serving with a blue shirt was absolutely delightful. I had an abysmal day and just wanted a British classic to lift my mood i walked in ; almost instantly was served. The server was very efficient, however still found time to converse with me about my day and make me feel warm and welcomed. I got my food very quickly and apon exit was wished a lovely day by the same server. i went in for comfort in the shape of food however came out with a smile on my face and a new sense of humanity all thanks to the beautiful young lady...
