When I visited with my family yesterday for my brother's 30th, initially I was a bit sceptical of the place. It's quite literally nestled next to a Premier convenience shop and at first glance, it looks like it could be someone's conservatory or house extension, but once you go inside, it's a beautifully quaint restaurant with a small, but an exceptional team of staff that went above and beyond to cater to our family of five and two young children. Our server was energetic, friendly, confident and made a point to entertain and cater to the children too.
I ordered the Calamari & Cod starter, which came quickly. The breading was light, crumbly and flavourful, the calamari wasn't tough and the cod practically fell apart in your mouth, I was honestly surprised how good it was as a starter.
However, the main event and star of the night had to be the Seafood Stew. Priced at £20, I was initially apprehensive at the thought of paying that much for something that could either be lacklustre or a small portion size, alongside the fact that seafood can sometimes be a bit risky to order at some restaurants, but I'm so extremely glad I did.
With what I counted to be twelve mussels, one filet of salmon, two filets of cod, four king prawns and four squid rings, there was a surprising amount of food, but honestly what blew my mind the most was the sauce itself. Immensely flavorful, rich and spicy - but only to the point that it danced, it didn't burn - it complemented the selection of seafood beautifully. All the mussels were cooked and fine to eat, the salmon and cod were tender, the king prawns were honestly huge and the squid rings were, just as before, not rubbery or tough. My rice came on its own plate, which after I'd eaten most of the seafood I decided to mix in with the remaining sauce to soak, and it was such a good idea.
Alongside my meal, I ordered a Cosmopolitan cocktail, which came well presented and ice-cold, which gave a wonderfully refreshing taste to go alongside the stew.
Overall, I cannot recommend this place enough. I will be coming back with friends and dates in the future to this absolutely wonderful hidden gem of a restaurant. It genuinely deserves a much larger venue in somewhere like Newcastle city centre, I wish it all the luck in the world, thank you again for a...
Read moreThe BEST Italian food I’ve ever tasted We now deliberately make the 40 minute journey for the food & experience at Giuseppe’s Bistro. From the moment you arrive you are warmly greeted by Giuseppe and made to feel like royalty. The atmosphere is fantastic in this bistro and I felt relaxed, comfortable and truly looked after by the staff. The food is second to none, I am a picky eater but can honestly say I am spoiled for choice. It is a shame you can only give 5 stars as it deserves far more. Last night I had the chicken risotto, and it was out of this world. This is definitely the best I’ve ever tasted. But previously I’ve had Margarita pizza and said exactly the same! The food here is in another level, generous with very reasonable prices. Drinks are perfect too and appreciate the attention to detail. I feel I should also mention as an electric wheelchair user the place has been subtly designed to accommodate wheelchair users without making a whole spectacle of you getting into the building and too the table. Something I really appreciate. All in all this place is the full package, and ticks all the boxes, amazing food and drink, great ambiance, and warm and friendly. It is perfect for a family get together celebration, an intimate meal for two, coffee with friends, or if you just want really decent food. Would highly recommend and...
Read moreWent for the third time today to Giuseppe's (Kibblesworths best hidden secret ) and was once again blown away by the delicious food, the presentation was fantastic and the use of fresh ingredients and flavours was amazing. We tried the three course special today and were not disappointed ... top class dining for just £13 and the house red was delicious too.
The Bistro itself is immaculately clean, sunny and trendy with well spaced out tables and a great atmosphere, There was a short power cut whilst there today but it didn't phase Giuseppe or the Chef who just kept on smiling and making everyone in the Restaurant feel welcome and comfortable.
I can't wait to try the Sunday Lunch as I have been recommended to try the selection of Roasted meats, fresh vegetables and chefs legendary Yorkshire puddings.
If you like good quality yet affordable food in comfortable trendy friendly surroundings then I recommend you trying Giuseppe's Bistro as know you won't be disappointed and will keep returning...
