Been a few months since my last visit, and as l expected it was as exceptional as l remembered.. Was nice to book in advance to come on on of the busier days and experience the atmosphere with more guests.. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful, the food is amazing and the service is brilliant too... Looking forward to my next visit and I'm determined not to leave it as long 🤔🤔🤔😉😉 5 stars all around, well done to all the staff who make the Soho Tavern what it is 👏👏👏👏👏👏
I only gave 4 stars for atmosphere as we were the only customers as the inclement weather on the day stopped anyone else in my opinion... But despite this The Soho Tavern was warm and welcoming and the barman was friendly and helpful....... Only got a main as was checking out location and food for another visit... Will definitely be back 👍👍👍👍
January 17th 2025 edit.....
Well l didn't realise it's been 2 years and a day since my last visit, and tbh if l could give more stars than 5 l would. So failing that I'm giving a 5*, this place is a true hidden gem and not far from Team Valley.. And having been to a lot of Indian restaurants in my time l can hand on my heart say I've just had the best Keema nan I've ever eaten... It went so well with my Punjabi curry (which was spectacular) l was advised it was quite spicy and it was but I'm definitely going to get it spicier next visit.. My friend had the Karai clayport and we shared a garlic pilaw and garlic and keema nan between us. He had a pint and l had a peroni 0.0 the bill was less than £41 which l thought was excellent value for money.... And I'm determined not to leave the next visit so long, exceptional food, atmosphere and the barman was really friendly and welcoming... If you haven't been to Soho Lounge you're missing out big style... And the weekend evenings Friday through Sunday apparently it gets super busy so booking ahead is advisable.... They even have a dedicated car park next door which is quite...
Read moreFirst time visiting Soho Tavern (July 2025). It is different from many curry houses in that it is a pub, but they serve Indian food. It has a well stocked bar and a few large screen tvs. There is also an outdoor drinking area. The decor is light and modern.
You can reserve tables, but we didn't need to (as a party of 3) at 7:30pm on a Wednesday night. Ordered using the QR code on the table number. Ordering was fairly easy, although it took a little while to find the onion bhaji (it's on the vegetarian menu and not under starters). Poppadoms can only be ordered in 2s (a minor quibble). There was an option before paying to add a gratuity, which we thought odd before we'd had the food. What surprised us was that after paying, it shows a service charge of 10%. I don"t believe this was notified in advance, but I may have missed the notification and would gladly be corrected.
The service was very quick, and the food was of good quality and very tasty.
The onion bhajis were light and didn't sit heavily on my stomach like many do. The chicken tikka jalfrezi had just enough onion and peppers (again, other curry houses seem to pile on the onions), and the garlic naan wasn't stodgy. Total cost of meal £28.22 including 10% service charge.
Coffee was ordered at the bar. 3 coffees came to about £11. Quality of coffee was much better than our normal haunts, but no After Eight mints!! I imagine the owners are going for a different style.
I'd recommend it. It's now on our curry house rota, so we...

We feel incredibly lucky to live in the village of Kibblesworth, just a short walk away from the exceptional Soho Tavern. Since discovering it, every other Indian restaurant experience has paled in comparison.
From the moment you walk through the door, you're greeted with warm hospitality and outstanding service from a front-of-house team that truly cares. The food is consistently phenomenal—bursting with flavour, beautifully presented, and cooked to perfection. I've never had a bad meal here.
While I usually play it safe with spice (confession: I'm a bit of a wimp), Soho caters to all heat preferences. Even their mild dishes are packed with flavour, unlike other places where a chicken tikka just tastes flat. They've absolutely nailed the balance between spice and taste.
Lately, I’ve tried a few takeaways from other spots, and I’ve been thoroughly disappointed by the lack of depth and seasoning. So here’s a fair warning: once you’ve tried Soho, your standards will be permanently raised, and no other Indian will quite hit the mark.
With an unbeatable atmosphere and an incredible team behind the scenes, Soho Tavern is a must-visit. Trust...
