Papa Johns Pizza — Restaurant in Gateshead

Used to be excellent. Now it is the biggest rip off ever. Their prices went up - understandable due to food increases of about 10%. Note inflation is quoted as what prices have gone up by since 12 months ago so isn't an instant jump. I added chicken to my pizza and the photo below is all the chicken on one slice, and it's like that on most slices. Beyond a joke. A complete rip off and I'm furious I've paid for 1 piece of topping per slice. The chicken add on was the worst but the rest aren't much better. I used to get toppings crammed onto each slice. Now we have delivery charges, increases for the items, and about a 60-70% reduction in toppings. Check the photo out for the size of the chicken added to each slice. It's the size of my fingernail, and that's the biggest side you can see, not the smallest. It's such a shame as otherwise their pizzas are excellent but I'm not paying for cheese and tomato pizzas. Toppings were already a rip off. Now it's about 10p of chicken on an entire xxl pizza and this doesn't justify...

I was working in the area and used a delivery service to order a “Vegan Works” pizza. I had a £25.00 allowance for my meal which was paid for by the company I work for. My Pizza was delivered to the hotel I was staying at in about 30 minutes, that’s the only thing that was good about this experience. The pizza I received was not the vegan option so it had traditional dairy cheese, pepperoni, sausage and ham on it. I telephoned the restaurant but they were totally disinterested in my complaint and refused to replace the pizza with the correct one. It is my choice not to eat meat and dairy, I don’t have allergies, but if I did then this would have made me unwell if I’d eaten it. It was late in the evening and I had just driven for 4 hours so was I was tired. I had no choice but to buy another meal from elsewhere with my own money. This kind of treatment towards customers is wholly unacceptable, I’ll put this down to experience and never use Papa John’s...

Some of the best vegan pizza I've came across. And definitely the best vegan pizza to get to get for delivery in the Newcastle/Gateshead area. The vegan cheese tastes so much like real cheese I wouldn't be suprised if this ended up being the standard cheese they use on all of their pizzas in a few years time. New vegan hot dog meat is also very tasty and the new 2 goals have price pizza promotion is a great deal of your football team does well. Please keep brining out new vegan food, as it always seems to hit the spot! Staff are always super helpful if extra assistance is needed. Will always be my go to for a vegan...
