Rose & Crown — Restaurant in Gateshead

Throughout all lockdowns since last March we have tried lots of different places for food. Some poor, some decent and a select few that have delivered a cracking meal. The Rosie... is def up there with the best. 4 meals and sides were ordered. The food was still hot when we got it and full of flavour. Everything cooked bang on. My only gripe was not being able to wash it down with a cold pint from the pump (got Boris to thank for that) Will 100% be ordering again soon. Keep it up Earl & the team, better times ahead.

Nice pub for a drink with nice atmosphere. Don't go looking for nice food though, as this is on par with that of your local scran van. (Slightly harsh on the scran van)

On our visit we were a group of 7 we all ordered together, then proceeded to wait upwards of 85 minutes to receive the starters. The mains came out staggered with two meals coming half an hour before the remainder of the meals. Not once were we asked how the meal was or given and explanation or apology for the wait.

Absolutely disgusting by what I assume is the manager. We asked the lady in charge at 7 when kids were allowed in till and she said 8. At half 7 we were told they wouldn’t serve us by the new shift manager because we had kids. My child had adhd and was over-stimulated and crying. The manager told us if the child wasn’t crying he would have served us. Completely rude and unreasonable. Merry...
