We all have our favourite Indian Takeaway.. I have had a favourite for 30 years... but I have to say The Jewel in the Crown is now my favourite by far.... We had a variety of dishes from the menu and I have to say , everyone had their individual flavour , which was in fact to the highest standards.... it's the first time I have ordered here, but it certainly wont be the last, you really do have to do yourself a favour and try this place...... we have just finished our food, but can you believe, I cannot wait for the next meal.... Well viewers.... there it is... We have four busy pub restaurants , so I do understand the quality of food .... and this food is...

Has been a while since I was last here and was all ways good but tonight was very poor, i picked special biryani with a hot madras curry sauce. Once home and opened food and put onto a plate my first thoughts was I had been given the wrong rice as I ordered special which is all varieties of meats well so I thought. I counted 5 small pieces of meat in the full dish so I rang to ask if I had got the right meal to which he replied yes . I told him I was not happy as was more a vegetarian dish I got said to come back but meal was open and on my plate and was 4 miles away. I will not be back or would I recommend this place or definitely not the meal I got. How much does it cost to put meat in the dish you ordered. Sorry never...

So after a family recommendation a long time ago I was advised to try the JLC - forever sceptical of the new & unfamiliar after many a let down I thought I’d give them a go & then probably just move onto the next suggestion - how wrong I was!!! Almost 15 glorious & well fed years later with never a disappointment or bad meal ever - I’m the one recommending the wares of the fantastic authentic Indian cuisine available to all that will listen. An amazing family run business that never fails to deliver on exceptional taste as well as quantity, who genuinely care about their food & the service they provide. Keep up the fantastic work & I’ll no doubt see you again next...
