Good coffee in a unique setting. At Daedalus airfield next to the control tower. Can't wait for them to open fully. Has a garden airfield viewing area where light aircraft park by the cafe. I was lucky to see the Spitfire in my photos on my last visit. Looking forward to Cafe At Zero 5 being fully open soon. You won't find many cafes in this kind of unique setting. Daedalus is an old historical military airfield. The Solent HM Coastguard Helicopter is also based here. I served at HMS Daedalus while in the RN a few times so it brings back memories.

4-stars for the location and a chance to see the planes landing and taking off - particularly the Spitfire! There's also an interesting historical photo timeline of the airport on the wall. The food choices are the basic cafe affair and okay - I enjoyed the paninis. It's much busier now than in the summer - probably because awareness has spread. However, it felt pretty crowded both times I recently visited, with the friendly staff just managing to keep on top. It's probably better in summer when people can spread outside.

My son loves coming here. The young girls who served us were really lovely and bubbly. The radio tower staff are lovely too. One of the men came over and let us know a helicopter was going to be landing soon incase we were about to leave. My son loved watching it land. He enjoyed his babyccino and have had food in the past that has been nice. The toilets there have always been clean. Really recommend if you have a child who loves planes.

First visit today off the recommendation of my partner. Lots of parking. A decent number of tables and lots of space. The latte coffee was nice but finished quickly, as it was only warm. I ordered the sausage bap at £4.50, which was tasty. A large bap and two nicely cooked sausages. My only food complaint was the sachets of brown sauce. Not nice. My partner ordered the breakfast, which he thoroughly enjoyed at £7ish, 2 sausage, 2 bacon, scrambled egg, toast and beans. I was curious why they didn't offer hash browns, and staff said they weren't allowed a frier. Surprising, as I would put them in an oven? I personally found the menu quite limited for someone who doesn't eat cheese, bacon, or eggs. I wanted something hot, but not much to choose from if you have any food intolerances. There also really isn't any atmosphere, to be honest. Ok I guess, if you want to sit up at the back window and look at the planes, but that's not very comfy for eating. It's possibly better during the summer if you can sit outside? So, the lack of 5 stars is due to the lack of choice in my case. Others may be very happy with the menu. The lack of character or atmosphere, and the coffee temperature. Having said that, the place is scrupulously clean, the chairs are really comfortable and the staff are friendly and welcoming. I would definitely go back for coffee, but would be sure to ask for extra...

Amazing. Without a doubt the nicest airport cafe I have ever experienced. Where do I start. Well first of all the ladies that run/ own it. If angels ran cafes this is what it would look like. Nothing is to much bother for them and the service is quick, efficient while everything is still freshly prepared.

It is well placed overlooking the apron at the southern end of the airport. Co-located with the tower and main airport lounge/ office in the months outside of winter you are often treated to the sights and sounds of the spitfire starting up right outside the windows.

The seating and decor is plain but to be honest the view through those windows more than makes up for it. There is also outdoor seating, a viewing area and even a kids play area (aircraft themed of course).

The only downside? Having recently had a career change I’m no longer in daily walking distance of this amazing cafe. But I will still regularly visit. Oh and bacon Brie and cranberry panini followed by any one of their amazing cakes is my...

Definitely a missed opportunity for something great here. The cafe is virtually empty and devoid of personality. The lady who served me was rude and very abrupt and brought 2 still dirty cups out to make our hot chocolates - I didn’t say anything for fear that she might make a scene given her attitude. The hot chocolates were just hot water and instant powder. No table service, and I was told ā€˜I don’t take cards’ in a very short way. Such a shame that this opportunity hasn’t been realised to its full potential as I’m sure it could be a wonderful and very...
