We came to this restaurant mainly because it’s right next to that beautiful alley — and, of course, because it has that famous door inside. Even though the place was almost empty, the service was still quite slow. But the staff were very polite and friendly. The food was fine, nothing special, but the portions were surprisingly large — we couldn’t even finish everything. Overall, it was an okay experience. Not amazing, but there’s nothing much to complain about either.

Hello there, the worst burger's ever we had. Onions rings was really oily. The signature burger was so so dry. The taste was disgusting the burger was without any sauce, there was no salad anything my first impression is horrible and I definitely don't plan on going back. The price is absolutely unreliable it's a trap for a tourist. Btw French fries was great.

Today we had a lunch here and I’m so surprised seeing all negative reviews! We had an amazing buffet meal. With all you want plus wine, we paid about £40 (had 10% discount from our tour). But even without the discount, the price is reasonable for the food and the quality. They had a very beautiful view too and staff are nice and friendly. I recommend it.

I think they take advantage of the fact they are one of the few places available nearby but honestly was incredibly disappointed. When we came in the servers seemed very bothered that we even showed up; it was off putting but maybe the food would make up for it. It didn’t. There was issue with our order and it was entirely reasonable, so we asked for them to just remove the item from the bill. Easy solution that any half competent manager/staff member could resolve but rather than mitigating the issue the waitress got hostile. Overall, since the experience with the food was poor and the service was poor, have to rate 1 star. Atmosphere is decent but nothing spectacular. Overall, I would strongly recommend going elsewhere.

Follow-up to response

Essentially everything in the owners response is a dishonest attempt to maintain a favourable image. If you the original review was actually read properly, it’s already clear that the waitress was needlessly hostile and unless you lack any minor sense, you can immediately assume that if your waitress had become aggressive then we aren’t going to communicate further as your staff has already severed the ability to communicate anything. But also, thank you so much for offering to MICROWAVE my cold soup when one of our complaints was that we didn’t want the soup cause it was obviously not fresh. And for some reason the waitress got defensive about the soup like it was her baby. We just wanted to omit the soup from the order. Basic decency would allow you to do that. And 100% after paying the bill, the guy paying the bill expressed that the experience wasn’t good and could’ve been better.

My honest opinion, the gripe is with the supervisor/waitress lady that ruined our entire experience. Not that the other staff were that cheery but her specifically is a problem. She needs to either be put through some training or be let go if you have any respect for...

Terrible Experience — Cold Food, Rude Staff, and Unprofessional Ownership

I don’t usually leave reviews, but my experience at The Hedges Restaurant was so disappointing that I feel others should be warned.

First off, the customer service was absolutely awful. The staff were unfriendly, impatient, and acted like serving us was a burden. Simple requests were met with eye-rolls or attitude, and it felt like we were more of an inconvenience than guests.

Then came the food — cold, tasteless, and clearly poor quality. It was obvious there was little care or effort put into it. For the prices they charge, the standard was embarrassingly low. Honestly, I’ve had better food at gas stations.

To make matters worse, I looked at some of the other reviews afterwards and was shocked by how the owner responds to criticism. Instead of addressing complaints with professionalism, they fire back with petty, sarcastic, and downright childish replies. It’s extremely off-putting and paints a clear picture of how little they care about improving or treating customers with respect.

Do yourself a favor and skip this place. There are plenty of other restaurants in Ireland that know how to serve decent food and treat people properly — this is not...

Went on Sunday 29th September for my birthday for the carvery where do I begin Couldn't get through on phone for over an hour because they had Internet problems then when we did get through and booked Sunday carvery When we arrived we were greeted with about 4 coach loads of tourists couldn't get into the restaurant for about 10 minutes. My husband had to virtually push his way through then had to wait for our supposed reserved table So overcrowded the sheer amount of people the noise was shocking to say the least. We both ordered starters I ordered the baked Brie which it stated on the menu when it came out it was solid and absolutely freezing and uneatable and half my husband's garlic bread the cheese was not even melted The main carvery was equally under whelming . The meat particularly the gammon was bland and very much on a par with all the other food. The vegetables particularly the parsnips were rock solid . The whole experience was god awful and caused me great stress from beginning to end. The one star was for the bottled water which thankfully you had no part in making. Safe to say I do not recommend your establishment whatsoever and I would never go back even if...
