Saturday 1st November I went to the restaurant for the first time three of us. We were given a table close to the bar, we asked for two glass Malbec. Sorry we only do house wine by the glass, Malbec by the bottle, I had a cobra, well given a glass, then waited sometime for the beer. We were told I will bring you poppadoms in a minute how many do you want, just as well we want some. We were asked if we wanted some water, yes please so three of us with, we were given two glasses. Ate the poppadoms, then still waiting, we called the waiter, is there any chance you can take our meal order. Sorry took the order, any thing else, yes the Meal this evening would be nice. Eventually the food came they put all of food on the table then gave us the plates, my plate was dirty food stuck to the side, I asked for another beer. Never turned up, the food was warm not has hot in. Temperature I’ve had in other restaurants, we were questioned why we did not want bread. we do good bread it’s very nice. So. We don’t want any. Eventually the waiter came to clear the table, well took only two plates then didn’t return. We asked for the bill, then they bothered to clear the rest of the plates. Do you want coffee -deserts. No only the bill. They charged us for two beers, wrong only had one, told them still waiting for the second one! And not paying for it. It’s not good sitting near the bar area as the door kept being open, the waiter frequently walking around on the phone. Dropped takeaway food bags on the table next to ours. This is the first and last time we go there. Not impressed at all. The first time I ever left a poor review on any restaurant.
THANK YOU for your sarcastic reply to my review. It seems the truth has upset you. I have no issue with people knowing my name as I will only tell them the truth, as also shown in your comments.
I've been honest in our true experience on Saturday as stated, with the exception that I forgot to comment the two glasses for the wine were only place on the spare empty seat at the table and the bottle of wine placed there too, no attempt to pour the wine, unlike other restaurants. Also the second plate was not fully clean, I wiped that clean myself, I asked for a garlic chilly chicken, maybe next time you service this dish you can try putting some garlic in the dish, as I didn't taste any, We did not feel it necessary to be continually pressured, why did we not want Naan bread, most people want bread why did we not want it! Do you not understand if we wanted it, we would have ordered it. It's Quite simple!!
I do not see how your take away service has anything to do with the poor service we received, you can hardly say the constant walking around talking on the phone is taking delivery orders.
I Agree, I do have better things to do with my time, I have never put any poor review for any restaurant we have ever been to. Again this is facts and not lies unlike your statement, of Loathing malicious Gossip. My statement of events are factual and not any form of Malicious Gossip. Your contradicting yourself as you stated there were issues, try reading what you have written before you make rude sarcastic comments.
I'm sure if you had put as much effort in providing a better service as you have your rude sarcastic comments, also read some of the poor delivery reviews you may have a better restaurant business. We would normally leave a tip but not on this occasion. I can give an honest tip. I think you should book a table at some of the other local Indian and Tandoori restaurants in Gravesend town Centre, you will see and understand how they provide a professional service.
Don't worry I won't be returning as well as other people have commented on your unprofessional responses, many people think you are dam right rude.
I prefer to use other respectful pleasant...

I will say however, that this is what I believe to be an anomaly - this is our local Indian restaurant and one which we have dined at many times, without issue and enjoy visiting.
I will also say that the food was absolutely amazing as it always is. However, from around midway through our meal, we were (and I can only describe it as this) tortured by a group of young lads on another table (six in total) who were obviously relatively drunk and deciding to sing and lark about at the tops of their voices. The staff, amazingly did absolutely nothing about this and it took myself to very loudly but politely remind the group this was a restaurant and to ask the group to desist with their behaviour and they did abate - albeit temporarily.
I complained to the staff on-site and got absolutely nowhere, they agreed with me it was inappropriate behaviour however their argument seemed to be based on the fact they were able to do nothing about it (something which I find hard to believe). The noise level was so loud that talking at our table was completely impossible and we decided to pay the bill and leave the establishment hurriedly.
I also note that I did mention on leaving to both the staff and the group why we were leaving so soon and whilst the staff understood - the group saw this as pathetic I believe and a physical altercation was very near close to breaking out in the bar area. A totally disappointing and unnecesaary ending to an otherwise perfectly pleasant evening.
I feel totally let down by the on-site staff and it will take some persuasion to revisit this place based on the above review I have been forced to write.
Having enjoyed many an evening here prior to yesterday, both myself and my fellow diners was left thoroughly disappointed to...
Read moreI have been a regular customer here for over 20 years, but my recent experiences mean I shall eat here no more. I recently ordered a takeaway when friends were visiting. The biryani was dry and inedible and the shaha lamb was tough and inedible in a flavourless sweet coconut sauce which lacked any spices or flavour and bore no resemblance to its description. Both went in the bin. Thinking this was a one-off bad experience, we went on Saturday for an evening meal. I ordered chicken tikka madras, described as spicy and hot. I got a plate of bright red tomato and coconut sauce with some small pieces of pale chicken in it. That's it, there was nothing else, no softened onions, garlic, ginger, cardamom, chilli, garam masala, cumin, turmeric, no spices of any description, nothing! I don't know why I didn't send it back straight away. I think I just wasn't expecting such disappointingly poor cooking. It was just two spoonfuls of coconut puree with some tomato juice, warmed through (it wasn't even hot temperature-wise) with five small pieces of un-seared chicken. The mushroom pilau rice was swimming in a pool of yellow grease too. I did tell the waiter how disappointed I was and they did reduce the bill by the cost of that dish, (£10.95 !!!) but I am so disappointed after both experiences that I feel it needs to be shared so that you avoid similar disappointment. I won't be going there again until I can be sure that their standard of cooking has massively improved, and I mean...
