Absolutely stunning place, genuinely felt like I was in Spain or Italy.

The room, the room itself was luxurious and to a very high standard, the room I had was extremely spacious and comfy, it had a living area, all the relevant equipment, hair dryer iron, and bathrobes. It had a luxurious bathroom complete with a four post bath and individual sinks. The shower itself was really good, the only thing I would point out is that the grout had some kind of black mold on it (see pictures). The bed was really comfortable some people may say it's a little on the hard side. The cleanliness of the room was really clean, I didn't find any dusty areas of dirty spots other than mentioned above. The room does come with a Nespresso machine and 4 choices of coffee, along with other things like tea and biscuits.

The food, this is where the magic happens, with every meal they suggest a wine, if you're into wine this is the absolute retreat to come to. The food is to a high standard, the quality of the meals are really good, I would say that the complimentary bread and pesto butter is Divine, the olives are juicy and taste really fresh, the two meals that were ordered were a rump steak (no oz provided) and a lobster and king prawn linguine, both of the were excellent choices, the steak was done to the requirements that was requested, and the linguine was full of flavours, I would note that this dish is rather hot, not spicy, but will make you sweat a little. The fresh chilli is definitely prominent. There was also a suggestion in the menu to order sides, as if you order a steak, a steak is all you're getting. So a side of triple cooked chips was placed, the chips weren't that great to be honest, I found them to be either crispy, or absolutely soggy in oil, so it was hit and miss.

Breakfast, so this to be honest was disappointing. It's £15 pp for breakfast and it's not really worth it, it's a mixture of continental and cooked food. The full breakfast was ordered, the main complaints were, the sausage tasted like processed meat and condensed, the egg was dripping in oil and the mushrooms were tiny, and most probably tinned (more than likely) then you have the continental side, this was very well laid out, but there were fruit fly's all ove the open food, I did point this out and the only suggestion was that 'they are working on it' I would suggest that you could cover the open fruits ? Maybe I went for the wrong course. I should have gone for the salmon.

Overall, I didn't rate the service 5 stars due to the 'optional' service charge at 10% of your bill, now I personally didn't pay this due to the fact that I hadn't really received any service other than the standard, can I take your order and here's your food, and that's just standard service you get everywhere for free included in your bill. If I had received additional service ,(if I would have needed it) I would have reconsidered. I didn't rate the room 5 stars if the bathroom had black mould in it. Otherwise it would have received 5 stars at £190 a night I would have expected this. ( Price was correct at time of advertisement) (the booking we paid for was discounted at time of purchase £115)

This place is wonderful and I would recommend it, there's plenty to do and lots of areas to walk in including wood...

It was ok, I dont think I would return here.

I stayed here for three nights for my short break.

When I went to the reception to check-in, I said ‘I reserved a room’ or something like that. Then the receptionist was like ‘NAME?’ I didn’t feel good to be asked like that. Shouldn’t it be ‘May I take your name?’ or something bit more politer???

The room was quite spacious, coffee & tea facility was there. The bed was good size and comfortable. The view from the room was nice.

What was disappointed about the room was the fact the sink was blocked. When I arrived and washed my hand, loads of short hair floated up with water, it took 5-10 min for the water to drain. We were bit tired that day and told that to the reception next day. They resolved this while we are having breakfast which is good.

For food, it was good but nothing special. We had Sunday lunch, had broccoli soup, beef starter, beef main, pork main, lamb main and some desserts. (Forgot to take pictures but presentation was good) There were lot of customers, so waiters must have been very busy, it was difficult to get them to order. And we had to wait for a bit between the starter and main. (Maybe 20min or so which is hard with small kids) I honestly understand it was busy, I have worked as a water in the past, but if you charge 10% service charge, then service should be satisfactory?

When we checked in, we said to have breakfast for three morning, but after the first breakfast we changed our mind and told the receptionist that we want to cancel the rest of breakfast.

When we checked-out the receptionist provided an invoice for us. I saw £100 was charged for breakfast. I asked her if our breakfast was cancelled, she said yes. I said ‘so... is one breakfast for 4 people costs £100?’ She was like ‘no, £10 per adult and £7 per child Ok?’ I thought maybe I was mis-reading the invoice. After we left, I double checked the invoice and it was definitely charged £100 for breakfast. I went back and kindly asked her to check the breakfast price. She saw the invoice and confirmed somehow the two breakfast wasn’t cancelled and the extra £68 was charged. They immediately corrected the invoice and made refund. I appreciate for that. It would have been better if this over charge didn’t happen from the begging as it was not nice to concern about money and had to discuss about it. Maybe we made things bit more complicated by cancelling breakfast which we said we would have. But is it that difficult to manage?

From above, I give two stars and wouldn’t come back...

Booked the restaurant for my birthday as I had vouchers. Unfortunately my mother could not attend, so I contacted the staff to ask if they could arrange for me to have a meal to take for her so she would feel part of the celebration back at home. 2 calls and an email confirmation that this could be done made me happy. 40 mins whilst I was travelling to the venue I was contacted by the vineyard to say that my request could not be fulfilled 24 hrs after I had verification by email that it could. Then the line dropped and I tried calling twice whilst travelling but no answer. Left message nothing. Too late to cancel or make any other arrangements. We arrived to be told they couldn't fulfil my request even though I had written confirmation it would be done. I was offered to have the lunch put in numerous cake boxes as they had nothing else. I declined as I was not paying for a deconstructed lunch. Our lunch was hot and miss, starters excellent, main course, lamb excellent but vegetables, bland and not a lot of choice, roast potatoes and Yorkshire pudding over cooked and hard. Deserts - chocolate bomb to die for, knickerbocker glory - give it a miss. The person who saved the whole visit was our waiter, who I didn't get his name. As I had a voucher, it does state that you have to use the whole value and if you underspend, you will not be compensated for the difference - I hadn't used £44. I explained if the restaurant had delivered what was promised I would of used the whole value but as they couldn't, I was not prepared to leave that amount. I also asked for the discretionary 10% not to be added to my bill. The waiter sorted out the £44 that was undpent to be left on my voucher and dispensed with the 10%. However he had been so kind and attentive and the only person who apologised and sorted all out for us, we tipped him, more that the 10% that we would of been charged. Not a restaurant manager or reception manager apologised. I was very dissapointed in the level of service that an establishment of this calibre showed. I will return to use what's left on the voucher but only to have drinks, etc. I will not be back after that. Such a shame as all previous exoetiences there had been first lass. I would suggest that the reception staff and restaurant staff establish a clear libd of communication as to what can be achieved and what can't. Plus sort out your phone system and training for staff, your customers do not want yo leave endless messages that...
