Food was either top notch or absolutely failed.

My bouillabaisse starter strongly smelled of spoiled mussels + had poorly cooked borlotti or pinto beans to the extent that some of them where wrinkled and all of them not quite chewable. When the front of the house asked how was the meal, we politely shared our comments. The answer was that we have to be open minded to try something new 🫣.

Thai curry courgette for my husband’s main dish drastically lacked salt and umami flavour. And you know Asian cuisine is impossible to eat when it’s bland. Unfortunately we didn’t have salt at the table. Front of the house did ask us if we need salt but it was before we tried the food. We usually trust the chef with the seasoning especially in fine dining places but this time we had to wait for 10 min while our food was getting cold until the front of the house had time to give some salt to our table 😞

The beetroot starter however was gorgeous! Different textures and flavours of both red and yellow beetroot - salted, baked, pickled, braised. Together with beautifully whipped goat curd and slight crunch of the pine nuts.

Cod main was a star! Gorgeous texture of the cod complimented by the choice of cooking method. Rich sauce, lovely textures of fennel - five out of five.

Dessert, chocolate crème brûlée was outstanding Textures, flavours , presentation - wow!

I really hope to visit this place again soon and see all the menu being developed...

Meal was okay, but way way overpriced! It felt like they wanted to eek every penny out of you. Choose a main, then have to pay over the odds for a side of vegetables and drink. Which are rediculas prices, really!

I can see why they do the voucher for people, as they must make a killing as you end up paying so much extra. If you don't, you're just left with a plate of meat. In fact, we paid over £100 for a meal that should be half the price, really, and I've had a far better meal at half the price in lesser well-known places.

If you have a vouchers. Don't think it's paying for a meal with the extra hidden costs they drop on you once there!!

They didn't even have the meal we asked doe in the menu, so we kept having to pick something else. I would try somewhere less well-known and more relaxing. The venue was okay, a bit like a cafe and nothing to write home about.

It seemed to be all about how much money they can get before you left rather than wanting you to enjoy the experience. We left there feeling a bit cheated and disappointed. It just all felt false, forced, pretentious, and...

The staff were helpful ,friendly and very hospitable . We visited for a birthday lunch at the vineyard . We chose a table outside which had fantastic views . Sadly the wasps wanted to join us so the staff were very obliging and found a wasp free zone in the restaurant for us . I had the mango and passionfruit solero as a dessert and whilst it was delicious and tasted lovely i thought it lacked presentation as It arrived on a block of wood much to the amusement of my friends and I . Not very imaginative of the chef and a let down after a stunning main course. The other desserts were beautifully presented and looked appetising and appealing to the eye .Sadly i cant say the same for mine . It was nothing more than a Magnum on a stick .Would have expected something a little more elaborate for the price and more in keeping with the standard of the dining experience...

This is one of our favourite places to eat day or night, evenings or Sunday lunch. The location is convenient for us and a lovely part of northern Cardiff. The restaurant is lovely, modern chic, with stylish wood decor and lots of plants. The service is pleasant and professional. Plenty of helpful, courteous staff. The various meals we've had there are just wonderful. Quite rich, but if you like plentifully portioned Sunday lunches or fine meat selections and vegetable options, it's spot on. Good wine selection too, though on the pricey side. Try some of their wines, you won't be disappointed. It really is a special place and a pleasure to dine there.
