it was our 2nd time coming here, after we enjoyed the food and ambience on our first visit a few months ago. We reserved a table for 5 people at 8:30pm. When we arrived the staff seated us at a round table. We waited for the staff to come and take our order, and they took the drinks order and a few minutes later the meal order. This was all at 9pm. We ordered 2 special tawa platters as we knew 1 would not be enough for all of us. At this point, none of the staff thought to move us to a large table to accommodate the platters. We were given our food…45 mins later and the staff attempted to SQUEEZE/PUSH the two platters on top of this SMALL round table. At this point we said it is not possible for TWO tawa platters to be shoved on top of each other with no space to put our plates on the table and actually move/eat the food. The waiter began to argue with us and told us that even though we could see there was a large rectangle table available right now (9:45pm) it had been reserved for someone at 9:15 and they had “requested a rectangle table” which was absurd. One of the waiters apologised and said he did raise concerns when the order was taken and did ask if he should move us to another table but was told by higher ups that it’ll be fine and they’ll just push it all on the table tightly and it’ll be fine. The waiter that refused to move us, then made a call and agreed to move us to the larger rectangle table. At this point, it left a sour mood as we ate. At 10pm I never saw this supposed booking arrive and the food was getting cold after all that fussing and moving. Despite the food being nice, the poor service and lack of consideration ruined our evening. If I ever come back, I will have to request “large rectangle table” just in case I order more food. We spent over £100 for a special dinner but will need to think twice before...

Went here today expecting a lot more after all the hype. First impressions, no warm welcome from the staff. No concept of customer service apart from robotically asking you if you are ready to order. Guy taking my money didn't even look me in the face or smile once, disgusted by this behaviour. I could understand if they were busy, but there were more staff than customers, he should have made us want to spend more time there, but they didnt, and we were eager to leave. Mockfails, just pointless and overpriced, minus any alcohol so why so expensive? Now for the food apart from the lamb chops which were really fatty and not much meat, cooked nicely though. Chatpata wings, they were nice. Samosa chaat, ok, nothing to write home about. Chilli paneer and chilli Mogo, no good at all. Mogo was dense and not flavoured, same with the paneer, just oversized and unspiced. The biggest problem here was absolutely no atmosphere. No laughing customers, nobody enjoying themselves. The music is so quiet it means you can hear conversations from across the restaurant and doesn't make it very personal. Turn up the sound! We want to be able to laugh and talk without fear of the whole restaurant hearing out every word! Please I urge the owners to go visit a place in North London called Purple Flame, and see how it's meant to be done. I'm £100 down, between my wife, me and two kids, it shouldnt be that much for such disappointing and experience. I would rather...

Family bought me out for my birthday. Table booked for 6pm. Food ordered for 6:30pm we had drinks etc. We waited until 7:30pm and still no food. People who came in after us were being served. I finally walked up to the counter and told the guy we had been waiting for an hour or so and still had no food. He was very apologetic and said he would find out what was going on. A few minutes later a guy turns up at our table and says it’s normal for food to take 45mins on a Saturday evening. I explained we had bu now waited for 1:10. He began to argue that it was only an hour. He then talked across me to a member of my family and carried on explaining ignoring me totally and was very argumentative. The food turned up 10mins later and was not right and they had to go back into the kitchen to get the right food. So eventually we started eating about 7:50pm. We also had a baby of 1.5 years waiting with us for food. The waiter who bought the food was rude and impatient and yelled out the dishes for the entire restaurant to hear what we had ordered. We asked for the bill which did not arrive until we all got up to leave. Some amount was taken off the bill but I don’t know how much as it was a birthday treat for me. I have to say will not be going back...

A nice looking restaurant based in Bushmead. it's Halal and very Muslim friendly. When i read Tapas, I always think Spanish, but unfortunately there is nothing Spanish about it. Nonetheless very stylishly decorated. Staff where friendly on arrival. It was a very busy night for a Thursday. Try and avoid the seats near the counter as there is a very noisy milkshake making machine. The Ambiance was generally good. very family friendly place. Maybe it was a very busy night or there where covid related abscences but we had to wait over 30 minutes for our starter. After a few initial teething problems and speaking to the owner the rest of the evening went really well. The owner was very responsive and really took charge. As for the food.... The Nan bread where superb and so very soft. The papri chat is reccomended. The mixed grill was nice but not the best. The Tarka Dal was awesome and definitely worth ordering. The most pleasant surprise was the owner refused to take my money at the end which showed integrity and excellent customer service. even though we had the initial problems I would still reccomended Tapas as they clearly care for their customers and with the current owner I can see a bright future.
