The Gretna Green Hotel a great place to go if you have young children, the staff has all ways welcomed families they take the time to chat to all the children , food is always hot and plenty of choice also they will go out of the way to mix and match meals for you you don't have to stick to the menu, can be a noisy place with children about but no one seems to mind , in fact good to have such a child friendly place, also they have the wacky warehouse for the kids and you can order the same food , or just have a cup of tea or coffee while kids are having great fun , price very reasonable I took my grandson on Tuesday and I paid 3£ for him to play for as long as he liked so I sat with my coffee and had a great time watching him have lots of fun and making new friends, always have lots of great food deals on, so yes I would say a really great place for families and couples of all ages seem to like it too. Great to see it's open now after Lock down, still wonderful staff, and the meals all really good, great for the kids they have healthy options and if you want to give your kids a treat they have some sweetie...
Read moreIt's OK...outside is a bit shabby, inside is a bit in need of some refurbishment and sticky, worn and grubby looking. Visited on a Sunday for lunch, not super busy...Staff all seemed lovely, plenty of choice on drinks and not expensive. Food...decent size menu even if they were in need of a wipe down as they were sticky, Roast lunch was three options: Chicken, beef or vegetarian...we both had the beef. For the price it was OK, edible, in honesty I would prefer to pay a little more for better quality. Two slices of beef (a little curled at the edges and unfortunately tough) menu said it was served with horseradish but there was none. Roast potatoes three medium seemed deep fried. Mashed potato from the microwave with its solid bits and very salty. All the veg seemed frozen, carrots and green beans lacking colour and soggy, the cauliflower was hard in some places and mush in others, peas were fine and gravy was nice. The best bit for me was the Yorkshire pudding medium in size, nice flavour and didn't explode when you cut it like in other establishments and brought the score...
