The Gretna Green Hotel a great place to go if you have young children, the staff has all ways welcomed families they take the time to chat to all the children , food is always hot and plenty of choice also they will go out of the way to mix and match meals for you you don't have to stick to the menu, can be a noisy place with children about but no one seems to mind , in fact good to have such a child friendly place, also they have the wacky warehouse for the kids and you can order the same food , or just have a cup of tea or coffee while kids are having great fun , price very reasonable I took my grandson on Tuesday and I paid 3£ for him to play for as long as he liked so I sat with my coffee and had a great time watching him have lots of fun and making new friends, always have lots of great food deals on, so yes I would say a really great place for families and couples of all ages seem to like it too. Great to see it's open now after Lock down, still wonderful staff, and the meals all really good, great for the kids they have healthy options and if you want to give your kids a treat they have some sweetie puddings for them.

*UPDATE November 2023* We came for breakfast as a family and I can honestly say this was shocking. I'm not sure what has changed here but the bacon was half cooked and 80% fat and cold. The whole portion of breakfast was really small. Small egg, 1 spoon of beans, fatty bacon leaving barely and meat. Not to mention my wife found what we believe to be hard plastic in her egg. Both our breakfasts were the same size as one of our daughters kids breakfast but put on a larger plate and 1 extra hash brown. Our other daughter wanted waffles bacon and syrup. The portion and temperature was fair but the waffles were very hard. Could barely get her folk in them and were crunchy to eat resulting in her leaving half of her food. It's a shame to see the food going down hill as the atmosphere is still nice. *1st review* Come here all the time. Breakfast is fantastic every morning. Also the daytime meals are great aswel. The staff are very friendly and even remember our orders as we always order the same breakfasts. Prices are good and so is the atmosphere. I recommend this place to anyone.

It's OK...outside is a bit shabby, inside is a bit in need of some refurbishment and sticky, worn and grubby looking. Visited on a Sunday for lunch, not super busy...Staff all seemed lovely, plenty of choice on drinks and not expensive. Food...decent size menu even if they were in need of a wipe down as they were sticky, Roast lunch was three options: Chicken, beef or vegetarian...we both had the beef. For the price it was OK, edible, in honesty I would prefer to pay a little more for better quality. Two slices of beef (a little curled at the edges and unfortunately tough) menu said it was served with horseradish but there was none. Roast potatoes three medium seemed deep fried. Mashed potato from the microwave with its solid bits and very salty. All the veg seemed frozen, carrots and green beans lacking colour and soggy, the cauliflower was hard in some places and mush in others, peas were fine and gravy was nice. The best bit for me was the Yorkshire pudding medium in size, nice flavour and didn't explode when you cut it like in other establishments and brought the score...

Food was just warm partner ordered the tikka masala from the pub classics menu it came with next to no rice and the sauce was runny and did not taste the way you'd expect a masala to taste and as mentioned was only warm I had the chicken new yorker once again food came warm not hot the grilled tomato was actually just raw chips clearly were frozen but tasted fine chicken and bacon was okay not great some parts were rubbery and tough and the bacon was very chewy We also ordered drinks and the glasses came dirty luckily we had ordered bottles so no need for them And Finally we made a booking received the confirmation email and when we arrived no booking was acknowledged they found us a table after cleaning it down in front of us I understand it being busy but it just screams unorganised we ordered off the app and I've done this in the past and the servers have still come over to make sure we have ordered and if everything was okay today nothing just running past and practically threw the cutlery on the table I usually have a good experience here but this time it was...
