The Hound Lounge — Restaurant in Great Britain

I was super excited to make my first visit to The Hound Lounge with my friend and our three dogs. Staff were welcoming and the cafe charming and friendly. We chose a panini, cake and coffee with three biscuits for the dogs. The paninis were very large and I might suggest sharing if you don't have a huge appetite.

However, I wanted to pay with a gift voucher that I had as a present from work. When the payment went through I was told that my voucher ran out in October and that I had to pay with an alternative means. The member of staff was very directed and did not offer any other option IE; speak to the manager, warning for next time , give me half the value etc. It was a disappointing and flat refusal of my £25 voucher. In my defence the card and voucher had no expiry date stamped on it and nothing to say that the voucher should be redeemed with a certain period. Needless to say my excitement turned to disappointment. We left the cafe after what should have been a very pleasant visit to a new regular watering hole. Open every day apart from Monday. Super friendly, welcoming lady at the counter. I was going to try a waffle, but due to the extraordinary weekend busy-ness just gone, there were no waffles or paninis on when I visited. I did however try the dark chocolate red velvet cake and very yum it was too. Milk alternatives available. It's a hound lounge and very popular, so it's going to smell of dawgs, but this is the place to come with your pooch, as they are well catered for here: dog toys, dog beds, water bowls and all manner of dog treats, biscuits, cakes. We dropped in for coffee and cake during our visit to the Sleeper Market. It’s dog friendly and there were a few pooches there with their owners! The friendly staff made a fuss of our dog and offered her a treat whilst we ordered coffees! They have a great selection of cakes to choose from!! Our dog had a puppucino and a homemade biscuit!
