Unfortunately i always have problems with the staff at this place.
I had an occasion when a leak was dripping from the ceiling right next to my table. I was unable to move due to the venue being so busy but the table was not out of order. On the same occasion mine and my partners meals were delivered so far apart that i had finished mine by the time my partners arrived.
On another occasion, there was a really rude man with a ponytail being flippant about a serving of peas in front of my children. I had ordered pea's separately, and he failed to deliver. He tried to say that the serving of peas on my sons plate was hers. Nope, my sons meal came with peas as i pointed out on the menu. He then shouted at me rather loudly in front of everyone because they had no garden pea's left. I then asked him if they had any mushy peas, which he said they did so he got me those but by this point our meal had already been ruined by this mans behaviour.
On another occasion, i took my son with autism for a meal. They don't sell Tango, so politely i bought a drink with my sons meal anyway but gave my son his can of Tango. I had the managing supervisor show me up over this can of tango. She didn't even bother asking me the circumstances. Yet again , another meal ruined.
Today, i took my daughters to wetherspoons upon their request. I have severe arthritis that i take 30 Tablets a day for so prefer to be sat near the disabled toilet. I picked a seat near the disabled toilet. There was this guy with additional needs, he had something in his hand that he was banging against the table which not only myself but other people who were already eating were being disturbed by. When i went to order at the bar, the lady at the bar was more interested in talking to the other lady who was looking after the group with disabilities about how she was going away to "shell island for a week of drinking" next week, and how her liver will not cope" and whispering to each other over the bar, rather than serving the next customer. They appeared to be friends. When the lady finally got round to taking my order, i mentioned the tapping, and she said "i don't think he can help it". I replied "I understand that he has got additional needs but he is disturbing everyone else and the managing supervisor had no problem letting my son with autism know that he had to follow the rules. She replied "You can always sit over this side (pointing to the other side of the restaurant), so myself and my daughters had to move all of our bags, condiments and me struggling to walk ended up sitting at a table by the doors, which was breezy and away from the disabled toilet. I ended up climbing the stairs to the normal toilets as it was closer, despite having to limp. So, to accommodate one disabled person they had to disregard another which was myself. I give up with this place. The only reason i go there is because of the budget friendly food, but definitely NOT...
Β Β Β Read moreRegular customers to Market Cross and never really had any issues. However we came Friday 28/04/2017 and ordered a Wetherspoon sharer to start large mixed grill, fish and chips, BBQ ribs and chicken strips. We didn't get the receipt. Although it was not too busy we waited some time for our main meal. When it did come my mixed grill and the fish were cold and it was clear it had been sitting and waiting to be brought out.
We stated to staff that it was cold and we were brought out fresh ones, within I would suggest less than 5 minutes! By this time the kids had finished their meals. I have to say I ate only some of the meal and the egg and sausages I believe were not cooked right as I had been up all night with sickness and diarrhoea!
Up until then I was feeling great and no one else in the family apart from my wife were suffering so it was not a bug.
I have to say how disappointing we were with the meal. The staff are great but the meal was terrible and it's the first time anywhere I have sent a meal back. My wife was really disappointed with her fish as well as this was cold and she suffered the same as me.
It is a bit hit and miss at times coming for food and on this occasion it was a big miss.
We did complain to Wetherspoons online and they have an independent company Acoura Group to send you a questionnaire out. This company constantly badges you about returning the form. When we eventually did no response from them or Wetherspoons!
I have probably spent hundreds on meals there but as a local will never...
Β Β Β Read moreVisited yesterday, plenty of signs everywhere saying table service, download the app to order etc. We waited about 5 mins by the door for our details to be taken then told to sit anywhere. If we were paying cash they would come to the table to take our order. Again we waited and in the end i donned my mask and went to the bar and asked someone to come over. I ordered what i thought was cabanara, how disappointing when it came it was a cheese pizza with raw mushrooms on and no rocket as discribed! My partners food was ok, but just ok. I spoke to the staff who pointed out my mistake and walked away. I really wasnt happy with the "carbanara pizza" (pray tell me what makes it carbanara?) So took it to the bar and asked could i swap for the soup, which they abliged. The half bowl os soup and stale bread arrived 15 mins later. I realise this was my mistake but the menu is very misleading! They did not offer me a refund of the difference between the bowl of soup and the pizza, nor did they come over and check that all was ok with the soup or my partners meal. It wasent busy just the staff chatting behind the bar about weather they had visited nanndos! You seriously need to improve on customer services and maybe have a word with headoffice re the menu as i cant just be me who has made...
