Bengal Balti — Restaurant in Wales

I ordered from Bengal Balti through Foodhub at 6.15pm, with an estimated delivery time of 60 minutes.

After waiting for 70 minutes, I decided to call the restaurant for an update. The person on the other end of the phone simply said, "10-15 minutes, madam”, without even asking who I was or where I was calling from. It was clear that they had no idea about my order or its status.

Another 30 minutes passed, and I called the restaurant again. Unfortunately, the same person answered and did not give me a chance to speak. He quickly repeated the same line, "10-15 minutes”, and then hung up on me.

I immediately called back, and this time a different person answered. I explained that I wanted to cancel my order due to the delay, but he replied that it was not possible as the food was already out for delivery and would arrive in 10-15 minutes.

Feeling helpless, I started an online chat with Foodhub. Throughout our conversation, Foodhub contacted the restaurant twice to enquire about my order, and the response both times was, again, "10-15 minutes”. Despite clearly missing their own timeframes, the restaurant refused to cancel the order.

Finally, after 3 hours of waiting, the delivery was attempted at 9.15pm. At this point, we refused to accept the delivery. The restaurant then called us, offering a refund, which was the least they could do.

I have since lodged a complaint against Bengal Balti with Foodhub and have been referred to their complaints department.

15/08/25 Another fantastic meal here at Bengal Balti. My personal favourite is the South Indian Garlic Chili Chicken, vindaloo hot. The whole family love the chicken tikka masala too. I had tandoori chicken for starters, very well marinated and super tasty. Staff are very polite and helpful as always. 100% recommended 19/07/25 Very consistent here. The guys will always look after your specific requests and the chef will create the best curry you've tasted. Not had a single issue in years now. My go to is South Indian Garlic Chilli Chicken, the Biryani is also on point. Prices are very reasonable, food is always high quality. Occasionally there will be a long wait, but that's a good sign.
