Worth the detour to the quaint village of Braunston as only a few minutes from the A5, M1, A45 and M45. We went there on our way back from Scotland as we didn't fancy the dreaded motorway services. Turned out to be a great choice and WELL WORTH the extra few miles off the motorway.

The fish and chips was probably the best I have had on this trip. One of my friends wanted the pie of the day but was not feeling very hungry. Sade let us know that we could get half orders of most things on the menu so my friend got a half of a pie and sides. We turned up as a party of 14 dripping wet from walking in the rain and we were welcomed and nothing was too much trouble for the kind-hearted staff. They moved the tables around to accommodate us and made provision for our wet coats. They let the children play darts while we waited for our meals. The menu was great for a variety of different appetites and when the food came it was delicious and very reasonable.
