The Square — Restaurant in Great Britain

We decided to make a breakstop and this place was slightly off the route but close enough for a detour. Great choice. Parking was tight in the village but we managed to park outside the entrance. We hadn't booked but it became clear The Square is a very popular meeting place for the locals and it quickly became a hive of activity. We chose a full English and everything was freshly prepared. The food was good and very well presented. The staff ard friendly and the tea and coffee were very nice. Clean toilets....

We came slightly after the kitchen closed but the waitress was incredibly kind and helpful. Despite us saying we would be happy with cake, she checked with the chef who agreed to cook for us. We only called in for a coffee but found the waitress so enthusiastic and welcoming, we ordered cake as well. (raspberry, beetroot and coconut slice and a toasted teacake) Delicious, I can recommend the slice! The menu looks inviting, we will be back for 'Loaded fries with brie and bacon'!
