We stayed here for 3 days and genuinely regretted not booking a longer stay. For establishments like this that bank primarily on location, Widemouth manor delivers fantastically on other benchmarks like service, food quality & ambience as well. From Breakfast to Dinner, food served here is Unpretentious, Impressive and appetizing. The place has a rustic feel good ambience that blends well with the breath taking external surroundings. Staff were always pleasant from check-in to dinning to checking out, no complaints whatsoever. For families traveling with little ones, there’s a bare minimum play area which is quite rare with hotels these days and acts as a serving grace when dealing with untimely child tantrums. Our little one enjoyed the play area from start till I handed over the key during checkout. The external seating area if weather permits adds further appeal to this fine establishment. Free Parking - in a place like Bude, the sheer presence of a free parking within the hotel premises is a Luxury, one shouldn’t take for granted when visiting Widemouth Manor. All in all, Widemouth Manor will definitely be our go to place when visiting Bude again. Thanks to the staff, the owners and their 2 lovely pets that made our short stay worthwhile. Pictures uploaded here don’t do justice to the surroundings, but should at the least entice future patrons to give this place a must visit status.

Had a good few beers here after a walk and then returned for their Thursday carvery. Sat out front, when drinking, in the wooden hexagonal seating area. All the seating benefits from tall glass protection and makes sitting outside on a windy day possible. Good views and great beer too!! The Thursday carvery was fabulous, the beef melted in the mouth and the turkey was so moist, juicy and flavoursome that I really wish I could've eaten more! The vegetables all cooked to perfection and the cauliflower cheese outstanding. The 3 waitresses that helped us though our evening where some of the best we've had the pleasure of being served by! We where table 10 on Thursday 19th at 1830. If that helps as I don't know any names. It was a bit hot in the dining room so could've benefited form some windows open, we didn't ask so isn't a complaint. I would recommend booking a bit in advance as we where lucky to get a table. Thanks for a lovely dinner!

Stayed locally for a long weekend so thought we would like to eat here. It was a little trip down memory lane as I was away with my daughter who is now 30 but we used to visit 'The Manor ' frequently when the children were younger. It really is a great location. We were greeted and sat quickly. There is a good choice on the menu, although I missed the specials board and this wasn't pointed out to us by the staff, thankfully my daughter spotted it! Front of house staff (Georgina) was friendly and she seemed happy schmoozing the customers. Long wait for food and the staff were busy laying up tables, but failed to see we didn't have cutlery, even when our food was eventually brought to us! Food was amazing, staff were lovely, lots of parking and a great location. It would definitely be a 5 star rating if the cutlery and empty glasses hadn't been overlooked

Booked table for 7:15 within the restaurant but got moved to the bar area as we had a table of 6 and they could not accommodate us within the restaurant.

We moved to the bar area where dogs were barking and kids screaming and was expected to go to the bar and order food and drinks “ when table service was offered in the other room “ but due to size of party we got down graded.

We ordered food at roughly 7:25/7:30 and asked for it all to come together, we ordered drinks and sat down.

45 minutes later the starter arrived warm “ not hot “ but warm enough to eat, we got the attention of the waiter and said just bring the mains now if they are ready.

He went off to the kitchen and said they would be 15 minutes, 1 hour and 30 mins later and no food had arrived, we went to the bar and asked where the food was and was told it would be with you asap.

We give them the benefit of the doubt and waited a little longer, we then received x2 kids meals and x2 bowls of chips “ which are attached to the main meal “

We then waited another 40 minutes with nothing. We decided as time was getting on and we was getting nowhere and no food inside we was going to request a refund.

While at the bar complaining about the service we are currently receiving x2 curry’s and x2 burgers arrived at the table, both curries were cold and both burgers were hot “ as they had been left under the heat lamp for to long “

We decided we still didn’t want the food as it was a complete joke and just wanted to get the children back to their caravan as they was getting tired.

We spoke to the manager and requested a refund and this was denied and stated she would only give part refund as the food that had arrived was hot and perfectly fine to eat but she would accept that the curries were cold and would only refund that.

We continued to try and explain and we was going round in circles, while we was in dispute with the manager I believe “ the mother “ of the manager came over and tried to be passive aggressive and trying to deny any wrong doing and basically told us we aren’t getting anything from them and the food was fine.

I reminded the mother that if the manager is your daughter I suggest you let her deal with it and not micro manage her as that degrading, to which she agreed and walked off.

Overall experience was awful .. I do feel sorry for the manager as she is under a lot of pressure from her parents and that can be seen.

I also feel that the kitchen isn’t up to scratch with the size of the venue and feel they need to revalue there approach...

. If you want a place to have a nice view looking out over the coast for just a few beers / Drinks. Then this place is for you. If you want a LIDL(they don't even hide it as the condiments have LIDL branding ) run of the mill carvery where quantity over quality then this place will suit your needs.

The carvery is particularly awkward you have to line up and wait in line through other people's tables , if you happen to be seated at the tables at the far end you will be unindated with people on looking whilst you eat, if you are waiting for the carvery itself you will be waiting in line in front of the Toilets.

Family Friendly location but beware if you bring a baby don't expect to find proper amenities to change , and facilities are moderately accessible during carvery times.

The staff are friendly but if you have a question be prepared to to be ignored for a while, I Don't think this is an issue if being understaffed as there was plenty of waitress buzzing all over.

You are seated yet don't expect to have a run through of the menu or have any explanation of how the carvery operates. You must wait for your waitress to ask you which selection you want and then have to wait for your ticket.

If you wish to have very dry Yorkshire puddings, dried up mini sausages, under cooked carrots and dry roast potatoes, peas and beans slightly hard (covering with lots of gravy re hydrates them somewhat) roast beef is tender if you get the meat but beware you may end up with just a portion of fat , The Turkey is OK and the gammon is somewhat on the salty side.

Drink selection is moderate but beware as of writing the bar area is smaller than normal as half of the building is a construction site .

During Carvery times the room noise is excessive to the point you couldn't hear the person talking next to or across the table.

Parking is generally OK no real problems even during prime hours.

Personally this isn't my top choice for a carvery it maybe a place to go after 5pm this I have yet to try But as the menu selection is spectacular I'm afraid reconsideration of another visit in the future as of this time .

Overall C- overall a place for an outdoor drink with views, review doesn't take in any examination of the overnight or...
