What do you expect, it is a cafe beside a beach with no other options of hot food for miles.
Waited at counter for ages to be acknowledged by meandering staff, food over priced (I mean over £5 for a cheeseburger without any sides at all...not even a sprig of salad..I mean come on!), slow delivery and limited seating availablity.
Whilst I was their most benches had 2/4 people seated taking up valuable seating that could seat 8 with a obligatory cup of coffee lasting 1 hour, either feeding there dogs or cleaning off sand gassing away not caring that real customers wanted to sit down to eat ordered food. It should NOT be treated like a pub beer garden. I also doesn't help when there are hundreds of people that might want to eat coming back from the beach area.
I am not usually in the habit of leaving poor reviews, but hopefully this gives the management a better view of how the customers see the service and makes improvements...
Read moreGreat little place, don't be put off by the low key look from the road, this place is cool, reasonably priced food and offshore lager, they do take out food for the beach but not beer so unfortunately on a food run I was forced to drink a swift half while waiting for my order to be cooked, a truly terrible state of affairs, so much so I "forgot" some of my order and had to come back for another swift half! The toilets are clean, tidy and modern and all the water for the toilets is all collected from rainwater, they do an evening menu but we never stayed for it although we considered it there's a sun patio and tables outside plus a cockatoo. free Wi-Fi and the staff are friendly, sea views and a good vibe, I can't rate the black rock Cafe highly enough, really made a difference...

We visited on a rainy afternoon and were pleasantly surprised by the variety on offer—not just your typical café options. With the recent launch of a new menu, there’s something for everyone, and the selection is genuinely impressive.
The buttermilk chicken burger is a definite highlight—crispy, full of flavour, and very generously portioned. What really stood out, though, was the pricing. Considering its prime location as the only eatery on Black Rock beach, the overall cost was refreshingly reasonable.
A lovely extra: they accept the Blue Light Card, even on Kelly’s ice creams. Just remember to mention it...
