Visited The Centurion while we were staying down in Casiter-On-Sea the food was so good we went back the second evening! Staff went above and beyond for our little ones the owner went out of her way to the wholesalers to get some ice-cream so they could have dessert when we visited the following evening. Food I couldn't fault at all, first evening we had Lasagne and a Mixed Grill which were both very tasty! Second evening we had Salmon and Half a rack of ribs which were equally as tasty! Definitely recommend and we will 100% be back again.

Prices are good and my carvery was not too bad, however, we had to wait an hour and a half for a baguette. Decor could do with some working as seats were torn and placemats dirty. If you are going for a cheap bite then this is okay but don't expect loads.

Lovely and warm, nice quiet atmosphere and 2 lunches for £14: very good quality and large portions. Good choice of desserts for under £4: Free parking. And a huge choice of gins. We will come back.

So the food was average tops. However the entire experience was marred by the lady behind the bar with curly hair who failed to crack a smile throughout our visit. The last time I visited she was the same. Sharp to the point of rudeness, no smile, nothing. I asked for a desert spoon. She said she had a tea spoon I asked for a larger spoon.... Do you meet it right now ? I'm like yes I do. I was with 3 guys with learning difficulties and one needs a spoon to eat. My colleague tried to explain later why we needed a spoon and she walked away, there was no acknowledgement or anything. I literally have no idea why people like this work in hospitality. I then heard her be rude to the next customer over a glass of wine. Id have thrown it at her. If this is her pub then I would avoid going, if this is her job then her manager needs to transfer her to the local prison where her conduct and manners and general demeanor would be better suited. Everything was too much trouble and ..... When we left she stood at the bar Infront of us , no other customer and she failed to thank us ..... Buggered if was thanking her . If you wish to see the most miserable woman in the UK go to...

I can not believe how awfully rude and pathetic the staff are! They all need to seriously have some customer service training! And learn how to speak and treat customers properly! We arrived here today whilst waiting for a caravan to be available up the road, my son did stand on the garden bench as we arrived to look for a table and before I could even tell him to get down a very rude lady shouted at him and practically did my job for me which I did not like at all! She spoke to him like he was a piece of rubbish and that is not acceptable!. We thought maybe she was just having a bad day so we continued to take our seat and my partner went to order the drinks .... only to be greeted by yet again another very very rude bar maid !! She said he would not be served without a table number which is fine but the way she said it was so disgusting.. again like he was a piece of rubbish! he was stood behind the bar (behind the screen!) and she then said also you won’t be served! unless you are behind the screen just a shambles we didn’t order drinks and left and will also be telling everyone to not go there whilst we are Away...

Had a fabulous dinner tonight at the centurion in caister on sea. Been wanting to try the black rock grill for such a long time and it didn’t disappoint! Was recommended the cut of meat and the sauce to go with it was delicious and went perfectly. The size of meat was generous and with the chips/side salad it really is a great price for what you get. It’s presented beautifully. For those who haven’t had black rock before it’s explained very well. It’s great to be able to cook the steak ourselves at the table to our own individual preferences. We had guests with us who didn’t want black rock, they were able to select some pub classics and from the children’s menu. There was a very good selection to pick from. We always enjoy our visits to the centurion, we are always made to feel welcome. It’s a lovely place to Visit. They have a lovely restaurant area and the bar is fantastic for cosy winter drinks and summer drinks in the garden. If in the area be sure to visit. We always enjoy our meals here and leave very full due to fantastic...
