An exceptional team room with the best scones I have ever had. YES, THE BEST. Large fresh fruity scones served with whipped cream and delicious strawberry jam(these were served separately in small glass jars.
We hadn’t planned to have scones but having walked from Blackberry Cottage some 3.5 km away, we thought we deserved a treat.
The entire tea room is a work of art with pictures of local artists adorning the walls, fresh flowers on all the tables. Simply a delight.
Service was quick despite it being busy and we were lucky to secure one of the last available tables. However upon being seated, a few tables paid up and things quietened down briefly. (We arrived at around 11.15 AM).
Back to the coffee…..we ordered a large pot of plunger coffee for two and it came within a few minutes. We let it brew while having a chat and salivating at the varying dishes being served to customers near to us. The soup seemed to be a popular choice but there are many options on the menu, both sweet and savoury.
Staff were polite and happy.
One thing to note, if you are like me and first layer butter onto a scone before adding the jam and cream, you will need to ask for butter.
Price wise, two scones and enough coffee and milk for my partner and I to have two cups apiece came to £15 and some cents. A bargain at half the price!
For those driving, it didn’t seem to be an impossible mission to get a park.
One hundred percent recommend making the...
Read moreI stayed at this beautiful coffee shop in the village of Farnham during a short visit, and I must say it was an amazing experience. The village seems to come out of an enchanted fairy tale: typical English-style houses, well-kept and charming. The farm really impressed me, especially for the ingenious transformation of an old cowshed into a cosy coffee shop. The environment is relaxing and warm: a large stove in the centre of the room envelops you with its warmth and gives the feeling of being in the living room of your own home. The ceiling is a small jewel, with beautiful tea cups hanging from the load-bearing beams. Each time the tea is served, the cup is different, making the experience even more unique. The food is also really excellent. Inside, next to the main room, there is a small shop where you can find lucky items and souvenirs of the visit. On the walls are exposed very beautiful paintings for sale: I myself bought one for my new residence. The farm is easily accessible and absolutely worth a visit. An enchanting place that combines tradition,...
Read moreBack of beyond springs to mind. Arriving there the satnav took me down a final narrow lane alongside a large stone building, with sight in the distance of cars parked and wondering if there would be a space and if not would I have to back up said narrow lane. However on reaching the carpark found plenty of room in what was presumably the old farmyard, with typical farm buildings round, repurposed into a cafe, craft shop, wine shop and several others. The cafe in what looked like an old barn had tables and chairs alongside, with people eating substantial meals. Inside we found more tables, probably about 20 on a quick glance. We just had Earl Grey tea brewed from leaf in a pot I could hardly lift, and shared a large slice of carrot cake. There is a substantial menu but I didn't look at it. Seale church is nearby and the large stone building bordering the lane turned out to be the back of a row of houses. Exit is through...
