Spice of India — Restaurant in Guildford

Ordered here today, got a chicken saag, butter chicken, bombay aloo, pilau rice and a keema naan. It’s my most local so decided to give it a chance but I wish I didn’t! The pros were the saag tasted decent, and free poppadoms came with the order. It also came early. However all the food was cold, which was bizarre as it was in foil containers. The butter chicken was the worst I’ve ever tasted, was nothing like a curry just a pale sauce with absolutely no flavour and was honestly just disgusting. The Bombay aloo was boring compared to most others I’ve had with a thin sauce, and the naan was stone-cold and all wet and floppy in the bag. I found a piece of tandoori chicken in my saag, all the other pieces were regular so maybe they are dumping old chicken in it as I have no idea how that could happen. Will never order here again and I’d not recommend this...

I'm completely shocked by this restaurant and there rudeness towards booking. We visited this restaurant as a family of 6 with my daughter who is 7 and well behaved within a restaurant setting. This time around we called to book a table for 4 including my daughter. This restaurant had availability for 7:30pm but refused us because we had our daughter. They stated we do not accept children in our restaurant after 7pm. This was not an issue last time, the service went well, there was no misbehaviour, they didn't even take my name for the second booking, I am shocked, I have never experienced this before ever. Absolutely appalled and no excuse at all for this. We won't be returning...

Worst experience ever! Me and my family orders food from here at 8:10 in the evening they told us it would be a hour wait. A hour later it came, everything was good until they forgot my curry, we called they up and said that they will deliver it straight away this was at 9:20 now it’s bloody 9:50 and no food has turned up and all the over food has gone cold so looks like I am going hungry so thanks a lots never going there again. I am deverstated that I miss out on a family dinner. Update we called again and they said it should be knocking on the door..... no ones knocking on the door. Overall don’t order from here!
