We visited the garden centre and stopped at the café for lunch. The café offered a good selection of lunch items, along with various cakes, pastries, and drinks. We ordered chili with rice and a tuna mayonnaise baked potato. The tuna mayonnaise and salad were as expected—neither bad nor particularly amazing. The chili, however, was disappointing. While the portion was generous and contained plenty of meat, it reminded me of school dinners. It lacked flavor, sauce, and any hint of spice. The plain rice and undressed salad didn't help; a small side of crème fraîche or yogurt would have been welcome, though I doubt it would have made a significant difference. On our way out, I ordered a scone with jam to go, mainly because they were absolutely huge and looked delicious. I was pleasantly surprised; it was the best thing we ordered, so I can definitely recommend the scones! They offered butter and jam, but no clotted cream, which I found odd. The scone cost £5. Overall, it was a mixed experience. The quality of the hot meals let it down.

They have no idea what they are doing with coffee. They should just serve white or black coffee as I think anyone would struggle to tell the difference between anything else they serve. I’m a coffee enthusiast and believe you cannot simply pass a white coffee off as a flat white. They were nice enough to refund me when I pointed this out to...
