Ordered at 18:25-ish for a collection time of 19:15, on arrival staff didn't notice me due to being on their phones and mucking around, once I had been noticed person on the till seemed confused why I was there when I said I am here for collection it was 19:20 when they said "it will be 10-15 mins... cook called out the order (so not even made by this point) and I sat and waited listening to the microwaves whirling so from arriving to receiving my order this took a further 20 mins in that time chefs were talking about my order asking "are they there then?" There were 2 other tickets on the reel and silent phone with delivery drivers also sat in the restaurant on their phones, so quite clearly not a very busy night at all and with all the issues I encountered I would have expected them to be run off their feet and not coping with how busy it was but apparently a couple orders is enough to make them produce poor quality meals.
I drove the 5 minute journey home and opened the boxes, now I have never seen such poor quality food and never in my life have I said that a mac n cheese was bad until now. The food was lukewarm at best. too much salt on the chips. mac n cheese that tasted of nothing with a really terrible bbq sauce. the chilli on the chilli cheese chips was extremely dry literally no sauce, no cheese sauce either. Hot dog had a stale bun and not thoroughly cooked. Porky burger was also terrible I thought maybe I could save by scraping out the pork but sadly not. 100% all just come out of a can and nuked to death. Shame really as I had really high hopes for something different in our area and when I saw one of my favourite iteams on the menu I jumped at the chance, all good reviews until a week or 2 ago so clearly we missed out on the enthusiasm. Read more9pm - ordered food. Told it would be here in an hour. 10pm - food not arrived. 10:30pm - phoned multiple times, no answer. Still took our money though.
Called the next day for explanation but was told they missed no orders the night before, despite multiple reviews on JustEat claiming to have had shared our problem.
We were eventually promised full refund & replacement meal.
Replacement meal was inedible due to gloopy liquid oozing from the inside of the burger.
Once we called to secure refund that we were promised we were met with resistance. We explained what had been agreed & were told to continue complaint via email.
Email conversation was stretched out over the entire week, during which we were told that we would in fact not be receiving a refund as we had already had a replacement meal, despite it being inedible & a day late.
After exchanging 4 or 5 emails we finally got the outcome we were promised to begin with. However in the process not only have they lost a customer due to the poor food, poor communication & lack of integrity - they’ve also earned a 1 star review on Google.
In summary, if what you are after is a bad experience then BBQ Boss is the place for you.

Read moreSuch a shame a few years ago this place was great and we recommended to many but from the bad reviews I can see it's gone down hill but didn't check before this .We ordered about 8.30pm called at 9.40pm to check where it was as website said 40 mins and Guy on the phone said it just left with the driver which wasn't a problem , 30 mins later we checked again as we live in waterloville so only 5 mins from the restaurant . Guy had not a clue where it gone and advised we probably won't be recieving it was 10.20 pm by this time .When my partner asked for a refund as we spent over £50 they said they couldn't give us one even if we came down to the restaurant and had to go through some email to request it . Very poor service, I understand things happen but the customer service of not receiving your meal after 2 hours and advised it's probably not coming and no refund or resolution is shocking .. I'm afraid we wont be ordering again and advising others the same , zero star if I could
Update - over a month later and no refund - manager keeps fobbing us off with an email address which never replies . Please avoid if you don't want to be scammed...
