I visited blooms for mothers day with my family. When booking this, well over a month in advance, it asked where I'd like to sit. It gave me options of cafe, bus, or not bothered. I picked the bus as this was something different and for mothers day it would be lovely. When we arrived, I was sent to the function room, I question this and said I had booked the bus, the young girl said no it would have been a random selection, I replied with, no I specifically booked the bus on my booking, she then told me oh well things have been moved around now, and I was ushered into the function room which was nice but very busy and chaotic, not the calm cream tea vibe I was hoping for. Within 15 min our food was delivered. This was a pre booked cream tea for £25 per person. I was really disappointed with the selection we had, not at all worth the & £112 we paid! (4 adults, 1 child) 3 finger sandwiches, a cold dry, very small quiche, 1 scone, which was dry and 3 cakes. There was barely any cream or jam for 5 of us to share. Now for £25 per person, that is alot! It was prosecco on arrival, which was half a glass, not even a full glass. We ordered hot chocolate and lattes, this took over 45 minutes to arrive, by then we had finished eating. The hot chocolate was more like milk and was barley warm. I am really disappointed with the food and service. I feel this was really over priced and they had over booked for mothers day. After speaking with a friend who also visited that day, she felt the same :( very...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreBooked back in October for the festive lunch with a group of friends. Drinks on arrival didnāt turn up to the table for a good 45 minutes after then only 2 came, eventually the others came with the hot drinks, followed by the childrenās food. The restaurant was relatively busy upon arrival and the staff were busy, and table not ready. The food came out, it looked lovely but in all honesty for Ā£27 it wasnāt that nice, we had 3 sandwich fingers with festive fillings, 2 scones one plain, one cranberry and a selection of mini cakes that all tasted of mince pies (they did look good though) The restaurant it self was beautifully decorated with a lovely atmosphere and was warm (a little too warm for me but the staff did open the door for us, which was nice.) Iām not sure Iād return as although the atmosphere and staff were lovely, I had to get up to ask for drinks, spoons for deserts and even get my own menu and the wait was long as the restaurant went quiet before our food came out which was all cold anyway, so not sure on why the wait.
Although I appreciate the response from the manager Iām still entitled to an opinion of my experience of my time at Blooms and yes I was part of a group and a response may have been given to them I thought my response was unjustified as Iām still a...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreDisappointing breakfast if Vegan. Kids and husbands food was plentiful and good value. Ordered from the QR code at the table wanting the vegan option of the pancakes. However it doesn't say what the vegan option is. After going back and forward numerous times a waitress came over (I honestly hadn't realised asking for dairy free and it being an option on the menu would be such an issue). After stating I would just have pancakes with maple syrup and walnuts (which I'd already paid 9 pounds for), the waitress bought over which she announced as the kids pancakes. There were 2 tiny pancakes on the plate. My husband then had to get up again and ask why I have a kids portion to which he was told we'll they're vegan and it's correct but I had to come and let them know when I'm finished if I want more. Obviously I am not going to do that. Nobody came over to check our breakfasts either. We finished and left and wouldn't recommend to anyone with dietary requirements. Never have I been to a restaurant that advertises vegan alternatives then gets treated like an absolute inconvenience. Picture of my 2...
